I'm mixed about all of this, but will say that i am open minded & believe that the government can & will do whatever they want to. I have varying opinions on the government and other "conspiracy theories" - as far as UFO's - I think we'd be foolish to believe that we are the only lifeform in the universe... and keep in mind... we only know of OUR universe...who's to say there aren't more out there & we don't know about them... yet... Evolution is a theory, yet people believe in it & discuss or argue their point - think of all the "theories" that are used daily... - just a thought....

I sure don't. I'm on "The Island" every day, I've never once seen a black hummer. I'm on "The Island" every night, I've yet to see an alien space craft hovering above the research facility. SHow me what ya got BB....

I am all for qquestioning the government and looking into things but i think its a bit far fetched to think that there are some crazy alien experiments or otherwise going on at the gov't site on cox neck. i live in harborview and have never seen any flying objects, black hummers or anything really questionable. I used to ride my bike back in those woods before when they didnt have the fences but i can definetly understand why they would block it off. Just as its been said before, with the growing population and the simple fact that kids like to explore and often vandalize, they dont need people walking all around there. I mean it is NSA, not exactly the most public secter of the government.

I drive Cox Neck road everyday, early in the morning (before 6), and one thing I have observed over the years is that many times there is not a hint of fog any where else on the Island, but just as you come up Cox Neck there will be a thick patch of fog there. I'm not saying it's a routine occurrence, but it's just strange when it happens, there is no fog anywhere else, but just over this piece of property. I often wonder what's going on there, that they don't want us to see!

wow! There're some serious conspiracy theorists around Kent Island!
I've been on the Secret Service site in Laurel. Really cool place. I'm not sure what part of my job there was "secret" as we're not gummint, but nonetheless - they do some NEAT stuff there. I'll stay mum as it's not aliens and stuff, it's training for SS that would make sense if people thought about it.
Security? Yeah. Not as much as you think. Took my a half hour to fill out a variety of forms and answer questions on site... We did not have a guide or anything - just asked that we tell them where we were headed.
Kent Island controls the east coast though? You folks need to turn off the TV and get outside more often. Didn't anyone tell you TV is bad for your brain, eyes, hearing, and mental state of mind? Read a book, it's healthier. Better yet, go for a walk, bring a book, and read it on the trail.

Observations for a pilot-dude.
Kentmoor Airpark has been around since the 1940s. The original developer recently died. I know of one dude there who worked/used-to-work at No Such Agency, but I'm pretty sure he lives there for the same reason that the rest of my freinds live there...they are airplane nuts and have enough money to buy a place on a semi-private runway....cool life.
The micro-imfamous KENT ISLAND MILITARY BASE, looks pretty boring from ~500ft above....a rotting old "elephant cage" and various other cold-war era antennas, including, if I recall correctly, an old "bedspring" satelite antenna. A veritable electronics museum. I'm sure there is some cool, newer stuff there, or they wouldn't even keep the lights on. Either great cammo, or honest frumpy. My money is on frumpy. It's no Cheshire Strip, or even Upperville. Only thing I've heard so far that doesn't track, for me, is that I usually did see more than one car rotating thru the place on the various times I've flown over. Maybe more like 3-5, but that was a few years ago, last time I looked.
I have to admit, I didn't read 100% of all the postings on this thread, so I'm not sure where the "Country Club" reference came from, but I can think of lots of places around the shore that would qualify as secluded, surrounded by trees, and one or two that were/are on islands. Heck, I even lived on a farm that fit all but the island description. Rumor was that JFK shagged secretarie(s) in one of the guest houses.
I've flown over the USSS training camp, south of Ft. Meade, while they were doing car chase simulations..kinda cool.
The closed Beltsville Airport actually -did- have some interesting history...something about old DC-3s and the CIA. I'm not sure if the ominous looking signs are from that part of it's history (I doubt it), or from when NASA had a laser ranging station there.
VLF array at Greenberry Pt was -cool-. Miles of antenna to "talk" to nuke subs on patrol at something like 4 chars/min. Doubled as a LORAN station. Even more cool when they dropped the towers. Demo guys really knew their stuff. One tower was on an artificial island out in the water and they laid it right down the causeway.
Here's a new "mystery" for you. Hop on Rt 50 east, go past Rt 213. About 1/2way to rt 404 on the east (left) side of the rd is a farm driveway. If you follow it back, there is a fork. the right fork has an ominous looking gov't nunyabusiness sign and a guard shack hidden around the next bend. Set in the woods, not 100 yds from rt 50, but completely out of sight from it is a cluster of about 15-20 office trailers. No play equipment, picnic tables, etc, but there is a connected clearing in the woods that looks a -lot- like an semi-improved helipad. Anyone know anything about that?

Mount Weather in Virginia is another, should say was, interesting little location. Mostly unknown to most until a plane hit the side of the mountain in 1974 with all on board killed. My 10th grade English teacher was a passenger on that plane.

Dear Skid,
I checked Google Earth and saw you you are speaking of. It's State Owned Land, I checked the land records. State Highway Admin keeps all of their road construction trailers there. Check out 301 @ 304, You'll see said trailer. Also check any construction site and you'll see 'em.
