There are a number of posts and threads about bad service, how about one for good service? If someone (waitress, bartender, salesperson, other) was particularly good, here is a place to give them just a little more recognition. Last Sunday (yesterday as I write this) we were at Luke's, on the bar side, at the tables. The young server with the yellow ribbon in her hair was INCREDIBLE! The place was packed, she seemed to be the only one handling the tables, but she was always there to take our beer orders before the glasses were empty. You rarely find this kind of exceptional service at a busy place anymore and it helped make for a very enjoyable day (the Ravens win helped a bit too .

Every time that I'm at Big Bat's the bar side service has been great. Their food is so-so, but I always come back because of the service.

3 Hours at the MVA today for a simple title change has left me looking for some good service...... Must have been Glim Berny or Annapolis. Never had a problem in Easton.

I've never had a problem at Annapolis, been going there since the doors opened and have never been back to GB. I guess Annapolis finally learned what GB already knew.
MVA Employees really DON'T have to give a crap.

:::::: shudder::::: MVA ::::shudder:::::
I will say though that Easton MVA rocks. I have spent hours in PG County and also in GB to get my license renewed and was in and out of Easton in 20 minutes last month.

Annapolis was fast a couple years ago when I renewed for motorcycle endorsement- certainly no more than 20 minutes. Good service? hmmm, the last crew at Meighan's was good. Annie's can be hit or miss. Our waitress on Halloween sure looked great in her pirate outfit , but the service was so-so... before that, bar side, service was good. The Narrows is typically very good.

I remember when I had the daughter up there in GB for her drivers test. Poor kid (poor dad too) had to do it twice on separate days. She got excited and drove over the front stick after pulling right in, first try for the parking test. Anyway, you'd see the the guys take the kids around the lot, do the start/stop stuff and do the parking thing etc... 15 minutes tops (if the kid has trouble with the parallel parking, 20) Then they'd go disappear for 45 minutes in a back room.
It seemed to improve about 10-15 years ago after they rolled out a alot of tech stuff to improve processes. Now it's back to MVA as usual. GB is like going through a Chicago stockyard.
Looking back at the first post in the thread, falgar was looking for good service experiences. You know, I honestly can't remember the last time I received service that was above what is expected.

Probably the best service I received was the last time I got gas - I pumped the gas quickly, cleaned the windows, and checked the oil; what happened tothe good old days of not having to get out of the car?
Regarding the MVA issue:
I went recently to Easton to renew my license. Had to take the vision test and failed it. The woman asked if I wore glasses and I said only for reading, not driving. She told me to go home and get my glasses and she'd retest me. My wife was with me, so I borrowed her glasses instead of driving all the way home. Tried the test again; couldn't read a d**n thing. The woman felt bad for me and gave me the license with a restriction for wearing my glasses. I told her if I wear my glasses I wouldn't even be able to see the front of my car, so how could I drive with them. She said she didn't know what to tell me. I guess it's safer for me to see the guages on the dashboard than the cars in front of me. Go figure!

Some places that always have good service when I use them are Big Bat's, Club One, Squisitos, Kent Town Liquors, Safeway, Happy Harry's, Lisa's, Hong Kong Chinese, The Narrow's, Island Imports Automotive, and Two Shores Lawn & Landscaping. High marks...!

I can say that the guys (& gals) at Western Auto are great! They've gone outof there way to find parts that most other places tell me "it's not in our computer" and then they are done with me....

Esternborn/Bayborn - thanks for the advice, I'll take it under consideration. My eyes are good enough to see you probably spelled your login name wrong and that Esternborn (maybe meant Easternborn)and Bayborn are the same person

I can usually count on decent service at Annies, but was extremely disappointed Friday night. We wanted to have dinner in the bar area and listen to kareoke. We were told an hour wait, so we waited. An hour and a half later, and never getting a server, we were shown a table in the restaraunt area. We went back to the hostess and told her we wanted to listen to kareoke in the bar area. The hostess told me my wife requested the restaraunt area. As my wife walked up and I told her what happened, the hostess must have realized she was caught in a lie. Instead of apologizing and taking care of us, the hostess just looked at both of us dumbfounded and said we would have to be put back on the waiting list. We left and went to LaFontana and got excellent service! Although we should have, it was 9:00 pm by that time and we were just sitting down for dinner. First time for the lobster ravioli, very good! I think I'm done with Annies.

I have always found Annie's service to be pretty bad. It's a shame because the food is excellent, especially that Sunday brunch. The last time that we went there, probably about a month or so ago, we were seated at a table that must have been in between to service areas because the two waitresses that were working the tables around us paid us absolutely no attention. I tried flagging one down after 20 minutes of just sitting there with water and she hurriedly said "just a minute" and walked away. We waited another 15 minutes and then got up and left. I had a similar thing happen when I went there over the summer too, but I eventually was able get a server when I went up to the hostess in the hallway and told her that nobody was helping us. I felt like a jerk having to do that, but it worked. This most recent time I probably should have did that again, but just gave up. We went to Fisherman's instead and had great service and a great meal. They were packed and the service was still good.

I'm always afraid to speak up at a restaurant - some of those people will do disgusting things to your food. But that is pretty bad about Annies. We've never had problems with our server - but the young girls who work the hostess station are awful. Snotty and not friendly at all. There are always like 3 or 4 of them standing there and when you come in, they just look at you - no greeting or smile. I figured they were daughters or nieces of the owners.

I agree, the best service is the Sunday buffet! That's a shame.

so speaking of service...
I went to that really big party store at Riva last night. I am trying to make these Hersheys Kiss cookies that require a new Candy Cane Kiss and I know they usually carry a large selection of holiday things. Anyway, I went to the Seasonal isle. Christmas candy all gone. In it's place? Valentine's candy. um..what?

Don't know if this helps - but I saw those candy cane kisses at Food Lion yesterday - in the front.

Got great service at Ledo's last night. When I called the order in, the gal was very sweet on the phone and repeated my whole order back to me to be sure she got it right. Then when I went in to pick it up, got another very nice young gal. She was very friendly and quick.
I walked out of there with a smile - and not just cause I was about to eat some awesome pizza.
