It was a great night for me, as a Ravens and Redskins fan. The very best of all possibilities - to have Baltimore WIN and Dallas LOSE!!!!!!!!

What an exciting game for mostly field goals. Sorry Beine your Cowboys year is over. Maybe they'll have a better year next year.
Man those Ravens looked good last night but I only wish they could play like that every week, which I know can't happen because of the level of competition.
Now let's hope they finish with a win and a spot in the playoffs.

I'm all for "be positive". And, I'm positive that I would like us to have another shot at Pittsburgh (this time without refs that need seeing eye dogs....). ;D I do believe in Festivus!!!!

And, although it is insignificant at this point, but the Steelers got pummeled by the Titans. Merry Christmas pittsburgh! I love it.

Just ribbed a co-worker up there (of course, AFTER she commented on us losing to Pburgh) about their loss. I hope the Ravens keep playing like they have recently!!!

Sorry, eine your Cowboys year is over. Maybe they'll have a better year next year. Ummmm Not quite.......
"IRVING – As badly as they felt as they walked up the Texas Stadium tunnel one last time, with legends flanked to either side, Saturday night, the Cowboys felt as happy as they could Sunday.
And they have the San Diego Chargers to thank.
Norv Turner made his most important contribution to the Cowboys since coordinating the offense during back-to-back Super Bowl seasons in 1992-93 when he coached San Diego to a 41-24 victory over Tampa Bay
As a result, the Cowboys know if they win next Sunday at Philadelphia, they will make their third straight trip to the playoffs. Lose and they are finished, with possible major changes coming in the off-season.
The Cowboys have won in two of their last three trips to Lincoln Financial Field, and are 7-6 in December games at Philadelphia.
But at least the Cowboys have a pulse."******************************** With that said, congrats Raven Fans.

I will say congrats to the Ravens fans!!! They played hard...
although I was incredibly disappointed in the dallas defense!!! To allow 2 EXACT plays almost to run for touchdowns I was appalled... If I were Romo - I'd be like "Hey guys we're getting the points on the board - think you could hold them a bit?"
but all in all it was a good game... I'm with you SG68 - I haven't gotten that excited over a football game in a long time...

... If I were Romo - I'd be like "Hey guys we're getting the points on the board - think you could hold them a bit?" You made me laugh with that one...and I am NOT saying that to aggravate the Cowboy fans....but I thought the SAME thing!!! On the first one I was like..."WOW...that worked! No way it will happen twice"... and..then it did! That would be a Wowx2 there! Did anyone hear the story that Jerry Jones acutally petitioned the NFL to get the Ravens to be their final game in Texas Stadium because he thought it would be a "winnable" game? *goes and searches for the link* Ah HA!! Here it is!! sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Did-Jerry-Jones-hand-pick-the-Ravens-to-close-Te?urn=nfl,130556 I really do NOT like Jerry Jones. Srsly. *****EDIT FOR ACCURACY****This story reflects allegations of things said to have happened...no proof positive that it DID...ONLY posted as a "Wouldn't This Serve Jerry Jones Right If It Did?" kind of thing

I guess that falls under the "be careful for what you wish, you may just 'get' it" category!!!! I am hoping that the league was not stupid enough to permit this, and I agree with the reporter that, "allowing an owner to hand-pick opponents for end-of-season games is a major advantage that every team would like to have". If it is the case, I hope that's the end of that little experiment. Geez....

Yeah, I mentioned that in my post above. He didn't want to play the "tough teams" like Wash, NY & Philly. Freaking hilarious! He scheduled the Ravens has their "homecoming" opponent thinking it would be an easy win after last season's 5-11 record. It just shows how little Jerry Jones knows about football and even less that he knows about the AFC. This is AFC North smash mouth football. Maybe he learned his lesson now and will steer clear of AFC teams next time he's looking for an easy win. F him

Good grief people. That article was nothing but assumptions. Jones didn't lobby for anything. He doesn't have any say on when or who is played during the season.
It comes right out and says "Speculate" which is just the same as assuming.
Every year when the schedule comes out....fans, coaches and players all "speculate" how well we will do and all have high hopes.
There isn't even a rivalry between the Ravens and the Cowboys, it's one game out of the season. Probably won't see each other again for quite some time unless it's a Superbowl somewhere down the line.
You won the game! Congrats. You need to worry about the next game, just as we do....this is the NFL anything can happen.

einebierbitte - if you found out an owner singled your favorite team out as an easy win, I think you'd take it more personal too. And to find out that the particular owner is one of the most arrogant egotistical owners in the entire league makes it that much more enjoyable to rub his nose in it.
I don't dislike the Cowboys, but Jerry Jones is a jackass. And if these stories are true (and several sources say they are) I am even more pleased that we beat their asses.

I agree that Jerry Jones is a jackass...and no one likes him. But the blog that you are quoting from...Is just making assumptions or speculating that Jerry Jones hand picked the Ravens.
As a true Dallas fan, most of us are Pissed that the last game in Texas Stadium was against the Ravens. Not because we believed we could beat you or that you would be an easy win, or anything like that....Their is no history between the two teams.
We would have much rather had the Skins, eagles, packers, lions, giants than the Ravens.
But I see your side, I really do........because he is an ass..no argument here.

Classy response and good points. And we (Ravens fans) were saying the same thing while watching, "Why didn't they play the Redskins in the final game?". That leads me to believe J.Jones did have something to do with scheduling the Ravens because you would think the NFL schedulers would have thought the same thing we are (regarding playing the Skins in that game). Anyhow, no hard feelings. I don't have a problem with the Cowboys. I especially like them when they beat the Redskins. I just with you had beat the Steelers.

I honestly thought that the final game WOULD have been the Cowboys vs. The Skins...seriously! I didn't post that link to get everyone all cranky and such...just as a "wouldn't it be funny IF" kind of thing.....deep cleansing breath gang It's all good! Bitte, as usual, you are 100% correct that there isn't any type of rivalry between the Ravens and the Cowboys (AND that Jerry Jones is a jackass!! lol)....I just like pokin at ya And you know....it's ALL in fun on my part.
