Anyone else really saddened by what's going on in Israel and the Gaza Strip? Yes...it makes me sick. Does either side even have a brain cell that tells them that they are not going to earn points by killing innocent people and Children...They make me sick...It truely makes me wonder about the other side of the earths rational thinking. I feel sad for all the innocent people who are stuck living in these places. Barb

I'm not saddened or surprised, It's been going on for centuries over there. None of them (I say Hammas, PLO, and the other TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS) understand trueces or cease fires or even peace for that matter. It all boils back down to the twisted religion (or factions of it) One day, maybe, someone big and bad enough will knock them all hard enough that they are either wiped off the earth or they learn their lesson. I doubt it will be the latter. Those groups live to wipe Israel and US off the face of the earth. If it comes down to US or THEM winning, I hope it's us.
Live and let live, and if you can't you can go away.

'GOD' is the root of ALL evil. 9/11 wouldn't have happened if the USA had believed in the 'right god'
ALLAH AHKBAR! ALLAH AHKBAR! ALLAH AHKBAR! ALLAH AHKBAR!
'their' god is great, yours.... is wrong! get used to it, it's getting worse before it's getting better. -DG

Oversimplification and the prejudices that accompany it are a big part of the problem.

It's sad that people/terrorists hide behind or use religion as their axis.

Go to various websites and watch a few beheading videos and listen to them chant 'allah akbar' (God is Great) while the blood of the non believers flows in the street. Tell me religion isn't at the root of all evil then. -DG

Just because some people skew their religious texts for their own perverted personal gain or prejudiced motivation doesn't mean that religion in itself is bad.
And I'm not going to watch beheading videos because I know what it would do to me physically.

Is there a religion on the planet that doesn't have innocent blood on its hands?

So by definition, atheists aren't evil? Or do you define atheism as a religion of non-religion?
Oversimplification. Spend some time to look into the issue. Religion is frequently used to rally the masses, but is not always the root cause of the problem.

Religion is frequently used to rally the masses, but is not always the root cause of the problem. The root of all evil is power, and power comes from Landowners...because just about every battle in History has always been about land ownership of some kind.

Allah is just the Arabic word for God. My grandmother, who's Catholic, uses Allah when she's praying in Arabic. reminds me of a good friend in college (remember, i'm older than transistor radios); we shared a birthday (he was in grad school; i not). he was lebanese, christian, grew up in jerusalem. now married, american, living in midwest. also had friends from kuwait, syria, iran, central and south america, eastern europe, etc. etc. this is apropos of nothing but that i grew up knowing many people of many nations. there are good, there are bad. innocent people dying, no matter who, is a sad thing. what makes our innocents more deserving than others? i don't know.
