Whew.....TOUGH one...dang. It was a bleak evening here as well. That last hit McGahee was involved in put things into a bit of perspective though, thank goodness he was still moving and talking. That was one of the scariest hits I have seen in a long, long time. And NO GAME, I don't care if it's the SB or Playoff, or just back yard, is worth dying over. My prayers will be with him. Congratulations to the Steelers and their fans on a hard played win. To the victor go the spoils. Enjoy your moment. We would if it were us And, hey, Ravens fans, our guys did the best they could for as long as they could, now it's on to next year. Just remember....come February 2nd...we will all be undefeated

I know, I thought we could pull it out the last 4min, 39sec..... What a game, I think that game was better than what the superbowl will be.... THe Ravens had a fantastic year and should be very proud of themselves. My thoughts and prayers are with McGahee. That was very scary, I dont think Ive seen anything like that before .

My house was very quiet at the end of the game last night, so what we didn't win, we tried our best and thats what I tell my children to do all the time, you can't win them all. Next year we will try again. As my son said,"True Ravens fans never go away. We stand by out team no matter what. So what we lost, no one expected us to get this far. Ravens all the way baby!" I am just saying a prayer that Willis McGahee is going to be healthy and ready for next year! I met him a few weeks ago and he was very nice.

As I really don't have a clue what goes on in football....yes, shame on me...I did watch off and on the game last night because of all the excitement on these threads. I, too, was horrified at the hard hit Willis McGahee took -- especially on the playback in slow motion -- his neck really snapped back and he absorbed a major body slam -- I'm very concerned about his condition today and my prayers are with him, his family, his team, and his fans.

We'll have to see what happens next year. Lots of questions out there about the Ravens. How will the defense do without Rex Ryan now that he has taken the head coaching job with the Jets, and possibly without Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, and Bart Scott. In my opinion, the Ravens need to really look at fixing the pass defense, namely get rid of the cornerbacks and replace them.

Hey Barb did you go today and get your autographs?? How was it?? We drove all the way up there and found out it is postponed until next tuesday. The NFL excercised their right to postpone as this date was set a long time ago...they had no idea that the Ravens would get this far..and if they had won the game on Sunday Flacco would have had to learn an entire new play book for the superbowl...so they took this off his plate. Of course...no one contacted my son because they didn't know how....they do now. Next tuesday happens to be my older sons 25 birthday...so we will be driving to Glen Burnie again...joy...at least I get dinner out that day...lol They still have tickets. Barb

In my opinion, the Ravens need to really look at fixing the pass defense, namely get rid of the cornerbacks and replace them. We will keep at least two of the three players (Suggs, Scott, Ray) that you mentioned. Most likely Scott is the odd man out, but the Ravens are a linebacker factory so no big deal. We've got a few good LB's waiting for their shot - I really like Barnes and McClain in particular. I agree our biggest Defensive need is at corner. I fully expect the Ravens to draft a corner with the first pick. Either Rolle or McAllister should be here next year. Fabian Washington is the real deal and I like the improvement of Frank Walker as well. But corner is a big priority, no doubt. Our pass rush has been good when everyone has been healthy. Resigning Suggs should be the number one free agent priority. Leonard resigning should be pursued as well. That guy played his ass off this year. Remember, at many times this year 3 out of 4 starters in the secondary were out at the same time (McAllister, Rolle, Landry) so getting some healthy bodies back in next season should go a long way. Stay positive. It was a hell of a year. Most of us predicted 8-8 or worse. To get to the AFC Champ game is amazing. our future is bright my friend!

Agree completely Shoreterp.
As I understand it, there is some sort of 'personality conflict' between McAlister and the new staff. Doesn't look like he'll be back.

I just read that in the Sun. Looks for sure that he's gone. 8m savings on the cap however so that is a good thing.
