I'm putting together a list of "how to's" for navigating and doing things like posting pictures and custom avatars. I'll post that info in this section. Posting a picture in your post: To add a picture or graphic like this: all that you have to do is have a picture on the web. Use a service like www.photobucket.com and upload you picture or graphic. Once it is loaded - copy the location URL of the picture and paste that URL in your post in the forum. Highlight that URL once it is posted, and select the "Insert Hyperlink" button (it looks like a planet right above the ;D smiley) and that's it - you have posted an image. To make an image your avatar instead of the provided list of graphics - Use the same method as above with Photobucket.com, and copy & paste the URL from Photobucket - or grab an image from a website by right clicking on it and hitting "Properties". Copy the image URL and paste it in the box provided in your "modify" section of your profile. Select "none" from the list of Avatars, and you will have the outside image as your Avatar. More tips soon.

Ok, I can delete my posts, but can't figure out how to delete a thread. You can go ahead and do it if you want. In the yard sale forum, need the "Jimmy Buffett Ticket" gone, and the "Wood Loft Bed with Storage" gone. Thanks!

How do you copy someone else's reply and add it to yours? You know, the ones with the box around it.

I have some PMs that are a few years old, so I think that as long as you keep the account active - your PMs will remain. I'm not sure how many you can store, but I have had several pages at one point...

Hey Ive noticed several postings within threads and even entire threads regarding Bob's Trash that have been deleted. Many questions have asked and answered in those threads. It seems odd that an open forum would be selectively edited. I just want to make sure that the island residents are informed as possible and are getting the full story when reading about us. Is there a reason this would be happening? Am i just missing something?
Thx
Bob

The only time that things get removed is when people attack others or things like that. Possibly the threads that you are talking about got ugly and were removed.

The threads in question had pretty much died out. It seems that quite a few of a certain competitors posts were removed or even edited by staff/mods. Posts where accusations were made about us. We have try to clarify our position and inform the consumers. That becomes difficult when changes are made to content by staff/mods. If you felt something was inappropriate, deal with them directly. By making substantial and unilateral changes you risk affecting the perception of members reading the forum. Im simply asking that all information be available to members and not filtered, so that they may be able to make an educated decision. If you feel that some posts/threads should come down, then i propose you pull all related threads. Then we can consolidate and start anew with one thread where all opinions could be voiced. Then we can more on with more trash talkin.
Thx Bob

Did you just tell Rich how you think he should run his forum so that you can promote your business the way you want to?? Seriously?
Here's a thought, go make your own forum, pay for it, have your own rules and post as much "garbage" as you want.

Some of the numerous repetative threads, posted in different sections were locked. They might be buried a few pages back. Even you Bob had posted the same posts in each thread. We don't need the same threads on different sections.
Also keep in mind that members can delete their own posts, not in our control.

OK - I get the how to quote thing and have used it successfully... What I can't figure out is this: 1. How do you quote multiple quotes? 2. How do you quote only a portion of another's post? If I can learn this, I'll have a blast!

What are "invisible users" ? The users who feel their spouses never listen them ;D I actually think they are users who chose to be "invisible" , so they don't appear that they are online.
