4/23/09 2010 hrs. Shopping Center by Centreville McDonald's.....Two cars were drag racing on the parking lot in front of the grocery store. Spinning wheels, fish tailing at a hight rate of speed between the rows of parked cars and shoppers. An unmarked united with lights flashing stopped these two idiots. Standing next to me on the McDonald's lot was an older couple who cheered the police on along with me. Mr. & Mrs. Chance of Churchville could not believe their eyes when the cop did nothing. After showing he knew the hotroders the cop just drove away........Must of had their their seat belts on......True life is always better than fiction. Pete Richter for Sheriff in 2010 picked up two more votes. Thank you unmarked unit.

I don't think so my friend........Road blocks for seat belts, but no action taken for willful and wanton total disregard for the public safety. Pete Richter for Sheriff in 2010 is moving forward. Thank you unmarked unit.

As a citizen as long as you have no criminal record, I belive but am not sure but a citizen can do a ride along with a police officer for both the state police and the sheriffs office, Pete you should sign up and do a ride a long and also citizens that think everything is hunky dorry in this county should do a ride along and get an eye opener that this isn't the quiet no crime county that they are led on to think it is!

rubyhayesforever..........The reason I was in the shopping center 30 minutes from my home is simple. Every Thursday night I sing gospel music with my guitar at the Corsica Hill Convalescent Home in Centreville with Brother Eli Sterling, and the Christian Waterman. From their we go to the Mc Donald's at the shopping center in question for a #1 super sized. The two people you say I was bothering are voting Pete Richter for Sheriff 2010. Stop by the Mc Donald's any Thursday between 8:15pm & 9:30pm, and I'll have my friends pray for you......Today 4/28/09 at 7:00pm I"ll be entertaining at the Mink Hill Convalescent Home on Collier Rd. in Grasonville with Captain Wayne Smith. Captain Smith is a retired blind Waterman who goes for dialysis treatments three times a week, and still takes time out for others. Stop by rudyhayesforever and learn something about life.

But when the reaction isnt what you like, you scream foul. Cant wait for you to run, wont miss one debate. But this isnt the 60's anymore, and sure not the western shore. Curious Pete...what was the line of duty for? And how would you change how things are done....been a long time since you were a policeman. things are different now. I know quite a few retried Baltimore City Police officers ranging from patrol guys to homicide detectives.....things are much different now compared to the 70's brother. Just wondering...

So the last time you were on the street was over 30 years ago? You do know that our current society is nothing like 1978. You cant treat people that way like they were treated in the 60' and 70's and get away with with.. Nowadays people dont respect the police at all. You can sue a cop if you dont like the way he talks to you.Its BS what these police have to go through with people in society these days. I think that calling these police "punk cops" is showing nothing but dis-respect for the people that will show up to protect YOU.. and put their lives on the line everyday.. BTW you say that you are for the people, but you sue for 3 million dollars because you got your feelings and hurt and your car towed/crushed? You should have picked up and paid for your car from impound then. A lawsuit like that definatly dosent sound like a "for the people" kinda guy. Who's going to pay in the long run..the QAC taxpayers/"people" If for some reason you were to get in office..your probably right about deputies looking for jobs , but it wont be by your choice. If you come off with the ego/attitude that you have on here you may be a one may show up there.. Just my .02

hawkeye & dude...........Please tell me how the streets are different today. Human behavior is the same today as it was 2,000 years ago. The only thing that changes are the names, and faces......hawkeye. Why would I pay the tow bill when my car was towed, and crushed illegally by the Sheriff for political reasons? I have the Constitutional right to sue for my damages, and that's exactly what I am doing. Being someone with only second and third hand hearsay to work with, you sure have a lot to say.

dude.....I was involved in the chase of a holdup man on Key Hwy near Federal Hill. My motorcycle got hung up in the rail road tracks. To keep from going down I muscled the bike up, and crushed everything in my left knee..........The biggest problem with law enforcement today is the fact that the cops, and the citizens are on opposing teams. Your Balto. friends were probably not there in the 70s. By 1970 any cop that earned his salt could see the handwriting on the wall. The standards were lowered to accommodate those who could not cut the mustard. The footman became history, and common sense went out the window.....Sun Paper 5/1/09 front page article on the Police. A Sun reporter secretly rode with a street Cop in the ghetto. Please read this article, and then I tell you what you missed.

Hawkeye: You better get your ducks in a row and your facts straight. Approximately 75% of the agency think it SUCKS now but can't leave due to the economy and can't speak their minds due to the retaliation that would come down from the command staff. On the other note, I you want to leave or are looking to leave, you are put on the crap list and your life will be made misrable by some of the incompetent supervisors! Believe me if you have a good supervisor you will be transfered to another group to a supervisor who is incompetent and a "yes man" to the current command staff! Any change would be better for the COUNTY, TAX-PAYERS, and DEPUTIES!

Pete..human behavior may be the same..but the times and society have changed dramatically. And maybe standards have been lowered to accomodate...Society dictated that change. Common sense is relative..Being a cop today is much different than 10, 20, 30 or 2000 years ago. Back in the day cops could woop ya and leave ya, talk to people with whatever tone was needed to do the job without fear of complaint or prosecution.....not so today my friend. Society again........no one wants to be held accountible for their decisions or actions...it's always someone else's fault. Blame game and over medication has ruined our society...that goes for both the cops, and the citizens they are sworn to protect. There are good and bad on both sides of the fence...always recognize the big picture and never assume or presume you know everything. How will you lead your department from the front if you had a medical injury....are you going to be next to your deputy when the chase is on and be able to keep up.....Lead from the front, not from the rear or behind a camera......Change is inevitable, Growth is optional. Sounds like your stuck in the 70's bro. And i'm sure if i read the article written by some liberal, chump a$$ journalist who has done nothing but "critique" police work....i wouldnt miss anything. Let the journalist walk the street for a few shifts alone and see how they do...........

dude........You state that our society is ruined along with the Police, and that in the day the Police could get away with anything. Your half right. In the day the Police were held to a very high standard. If those old rules were in effect today half the cops would be gone. If you didn't pay your bills, had an extra marital affair, sleeping on the job, worked a part time job, or failed to show for court you would be fired........The coach does not play the game, he shows the players how to play, and win the game......Check out the bill paying practices of Sgt. Sonny Jones in Easton.

umm...never said police could get away with anything..you missed the point. merely trying to drive the point home that society has changed...the game has changed and things aren't what they used to be. either change with the times or go the way of the dinosaur. and i never said the change was good.....wish things were they way the used to be...people held accountible, if ya screw up, own up and take the lump and move on... that was the point.
Not worried about Sgt Sonny Jones, this isn't a place for personal attack..merely voicing opinions. Everyone has trouble at one point or another.
Movin' on...

Oh...and this isn't football or baseball.....it's police work. Sittin behind a desk or camera mandating policy aint the way to get it done...gotta get your hands dirty. The troops and public will respect ya more if they see your willing to help out. Nothin funnier than a coach that stands on the sidelines pushing prime players and the coach is 300 lbs of flubber and ... well, you get the picture.
