Hehe. I know. But my wife said that the Buffalo Chicken Calzone at Ledo's was awesome, so I figured the pizza would be too. So next time I need to get the sausage, pepperoni and bacon Ledos Pizza, it sounds like. Get the PRE-COOKED bacon And- their Buffalo Chicken Salad IS great! just NOT on my pizza please.

Mangia's in Downtown Annapolis is the best pizza in the area, but Squisitos is the best on the island.

I never knew about Short-Stop Pizza until I saw it here. It's not the Shore Stop Valeros that you're talking about huh? Where in Stevensville is it and is it any good? Better yet, do they deliver? We don't have any good delevery anything here. A good pizza/sub shop and a good Chinese delivery would be great.

The best and closest Chinese food I've found around here is "House of Hunan" at the Festival shopping center in Parole. I usually pick it up on the way home from work a few times a month.

I'll second you on House of Hunan in the "Festival at Riva". Really good Chinese food. Try "Tom's Special' if you get a chance. It's salt/pepper Chinese eggplant. Doesn't sound good I know, but it's amazing!

ShortStop is right behind the Exxon at Rt 50 and Thompson Creek Rd. Subs are OK, haven't tried the pizza. They deliver.
Another Chinese Choice is China Garden in the shopping center on Bay Dale Dr. I haven't been to House of Hunan so I can't say how China Garden compares, but it's pretty good and a little closer than Riva.

We usually go to the Sezchuan (?) Inn at Benfield and Jumpers Hole in Severna Park. Good food, good service. Sounds like we need to try the House of Hunan though. Since the kids are older and rarely with us anymore, my wife and I are eating out a lot more. You get tired of looking for something new on the island.

The Chinese invented pasta

Rich..that could be argued.. Popular legend has it that Marco Polo introduced pasta to Italy following his exploration of the Far East in the late 13th century; however, we can trace pasta back as far as the fourth century B.C., where an Etruscan tomb showed a group of natives making what appears to be pasta. The Chinese were making a noodle-like food as early as 3000 B.C. And Greek mythology suggests that the Greek God Vulcan invented a device that made strings of dough (the first spaghetti!). Pasta made its way to the New World through the English, who discovered it while touring Italy. Colonists brought to America the English practice of cooking noodles at least one half hour, then smothering them with cream sauce and cheese. But it was Thomas Jefferson who is credited with bringing the first "maccaroni" machine to America in 1789 when he returned home after serving as ambassador to France. The first industrial pasta factory in America was built in Brooklyn in 1848 by, of all people, a Frenchman, who spread his spaghetti strands on the roof to dry in the sunshine.

Ok, back to pizza. I didn't care for La Fontana's thick crust pizza, actually I thought it was terrible; their white pizza was good, but I need the sauce. Had their thin-crusted pizza tonight - Fantastic!! and under $15.00, wow! I'll be back for many more......

Hey Rich - maybe it's time to hand the award to Squisito's and move on to the best buffalo wings, seafood, margherita's, selection of beer, etc.
I think we pretty much ran the gammit on pizza places.
Just a thought!
P.S. - I did pick Squisito's.

Peppi, Welcome to KI Online! We're a friendly bunch. It's all in fun, honestly We are going to do-up a nice signage to the winner of the area's "Best Pizza" for them to proudly display. Vote away! The next poll will be for the area's best night spot. Start thinking - Big Bat's, Luke's, Jetty, Lisa's, Red Eyes, Crab Deck, Rams Head, Blue Water Tavern, No Place, Sherridan's, Kentmorr, Annie's.... Same deal - The winner gets a week of free advertising on the "Night Life" page, as well as a nice wall hanger stating that they are the area's favorite by popular vote. If I missed anyone for the running - please PM me to let me know. To vote, you have to register. It's free and totally non-binding in any way - just required by Proboards.com, our server. To contact me to add a business (or to get a free "we love Kent Island" sticker, you can also Email me at webmaster@kentisland.orgThanks so much for being a part of Kent Island Online!

Personally, I don't really care who wins honors for best pizza in the area, but I have to agree with BChevy - I don't think La Piazza had more than 2-3 votes prior to the other day, and in the span of two days added over 10 votes. Definitely was padded by someone or we have a problem with hanging chads in the voting process Not saying it was Peppi, but it was an interesting coincidence that it occurred around the same time. I guess it's kinda' like American Idol - all depends on how many votes one person wants to send in - not an accurate measurement, but what are you going to do.

I agree...there were quite a few accounts opened yesterday if you look, and they all have names that are obviously not serious... hhmmm kind of destroys the integrity of it all if some are going to cheat... I am probably going to open a can of worms, God forgive me but... I have never had Squisito but I am having a hard time believing that there are THAT many people around here that would put La Piazza up there with La Fontana, or even in front of it. I think that most here would agree that it is painfully clear the quality isn't even close.

Hi, not trying to step on anyones toes but after reading some posts just a thought, about twonights ago I was in La Piazza and overheard one of the girls talking to a customer about a website and how nice it was, they said it has just about anything you need to know or do on Kent Island on it, so I chimed in and asked which ones was is, they replied KentIsland.org. Then they also said about little fun posts such as this one as far as a poll like contest, and a few others but anyway Kent Island is just a hop, skip jump away from grasonville and not to many people, like myself, or the other person they were talking to knew about this website. know I do and haven't been over everything yet( too much stuff is great) but its fun like a new hobby i found. So as I read in peppi's post and then the others after, it might just be a word of mouth from the folks at La Piazza, and really they can talk about it, but won't ever know how people voted. So anyway nice to meet all of ya and hope to chat soon. I will be around on here now that I know about it.
