What is up with all of these high profiled cases where Politicians are having sexual affairs and then are so nieve that they aren't going to get caught.
I wonder if any of the actions are going on at a local level closer to home???

I still think I'm in bizarro world when a politician calls a press conference to admit to an affair. Go talk to your wife, I don't care.
If people would stop lapping up this news like a dog finding spilled gravy on the floor, then maybe the new agencies would stop spending their time on it and we could hear some stories that actually matter.

I think that one of our local politicians is in that boat right now, messing aroud with a younger female subordnate co-worker. I heard that they were thrown out of their house, and now is living with a co-worker now, and the politican's wife was emergency commited two times by members of their agency ( Major Conflict of Intrest), but heck what else is new.

Ironic that so many of these politicians are against gay marriage because they're concerned it'll somehow affect the sanctity of marriage.

As Jon Stewart said on Wednesday's The Daily Show, "Just another politician with a conservative mind and a liberal thingy."
[EDIT: LOL. Jon Stewart did not say "thingy". You can guess which part of the male anatomy he was referring to.]

Umm, this is nothing new with the person involved in this topic. This has been going on well before he got into politics. It is what it is, people knew about this kinda stuff with him and it didn't make any difference in the election results. This behavior was extensively talked about and "poo-pooed" by his adiment supporters on this board way before the last election for Sheriff. I don't know why it's such to do about it now.

Rich- Why did you delete my last post advising about the Sheriff and this issue, are you part of the problem when you delete my post, are you covering for the Sheriff, this is a known topic within the community and well discussed inside the sheriffs office! But I guess that this isn't the political forum after all where you can talk about anything to do with the shore!!!! Didn't see it, but just for kicks: kentisland.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rules&action=display&thread=1615

I wonder if any of the actions are going on at a local level closer to home??? It all depends on how slow the news is on any particular day or week. Nothing new, it's just reported better/more now. It's just to sell the news.

I do have to give credit to the Governor of South Carolina and the former Governors of NY and NJ for having the courage and manning up publicly for their mis-deeded actions! I only hope that other politicians that are in these shoes can follow in their foot steps and man up for their mis-deeded actions for letting down their family, voters, citizens, employees, ect. Its the old saying once a cheater, always a cheater, I don't care if you are a Governor, mayor, senator, congressman, sheriff, or any elected offical. If you are willing to lie to your family, you are sure as heck to lie to your tax paying voter citizens and employees! Once there is knowledge, there will always be that doubt about that persons integrity, morals and ethics! This just shows that this is not just a national problem but that it happens here in this county! If the shoe fits, wear it! :

If I were the other party in the marriage, I would take the guilty cheating party to the bank and go after the businesses, rental properties, the house, the vehicles, custody of the children, and a nice percentage of their pension! I sure hope the MRS has a great divorce attorney, I know I would if I were them and maybe a good private investigator to!

[As Jon Stewart said on Wednesday's The Daily Show, "Just another politician with a conservative mind and a liberal thingy."]
Just curious, anbody remember how Jon Stewart described Spitzer, Edwards or McGreevey? They all had minds even more liberal than their "thingy".
Maybe Sanford can start doing morning show guest spots like former Gov. Spitzer is doing this morning.

Ok, I have refrained from speaking on this topic...but I just can't any more. What did this man do that makes it any worse than any other man or woman that does the same thing? WHY is it news? Unfaithful politicians are about as surprising as dishonest ones. Is it moral outrage? Or is someone pissy about their tax dollars being used to do it? If the only waste of my tax dollars I had to worry about was something like THIS I could understand the carrying on about it.
It's not even ORIGINAL for crying out loud. It's not like he INVENTED infidelity. Do I "condone" it? Quite frankly I couldn't care less. Either way. Who he sleeps with is none of my business. Using taxpayer monies for less than...um...reputable causes? C'mon...seriously...he didn't invent that either.
Clinton had chicks doing him in office and d**n if folks just don't love him to pieces. This is anti-news...

This is anti-news... Sanford was a staunch supporter of family values, fiscal conservatism, ethics above all else, don't take the stimulus money......it's the hypocrisy thing causing it to make the news.

I don't care what party they are affiliated with or what their "political views" are....expecting infallible morality and honesty from politicians is like expecting your cat to bark.
I still don't see why this is news and I'm not going to. This type of garbage story is exactly why I stopped watching the news years ago. It's yellow journalism at its' best....

Well..............what I have to say is.............does anal retentive have a hyphen?
"The term anal-retentive (or anally retentive, anal retentive), commonly abbreviated to "anal", is used conversationally to describe a person with such attention to detail that the obsession becomes an annoyance to others, and can be carried out to the detriment of the anal-retentive person. The term derives from Freudian psychoanalysis."
give it a rest, adaml -- not interested in your Enquirer reports.

eileen.........I don't know if it's true or not, but I do know where I would bet my money. What I know is that the Bay Times is controlled by the good old boys. I personally caught them printing lies about me, and revealing me as their informant to the M.S.P.. My information was relative to provable illegal activity being conducted by their men. Good reporters would rather go to jail than to give up their informer. Bay Times reporters voluntarily give up informers. Honest News Papers with good reporters is one of the best tools for fighting corruption in Government......Sure they print some good stories, but they are afraid to take on the heavyweights.

It's not what "you people" have to say -- it's the tactics you use in getting your "message" across and abusing this forum as a means to do so. You have been utilizing slimey smear campaigns, you have a personal agenda that you operate within with no holes barred -- and worse, you gleefully revell in it. With people like this, who would need enemies. People on this board are not stupid -- So look at your own selves, your real motives -- you're not concerned about the welfare of this county or it's citizens -- you just want to annilate him publicly and gleefully in any manner available. That's what's offensive. And that's what makes you dangerous.

Truth in itself is not dangerous nor is it destructive or vindictive. What is dangerous is the manipulative mode of one's chosen form of utilization and application of a particular interpretation of it with the sole intent of utter destruction. If I were "you people", I'd be a tad bit leary -- the Universe has a way of sneaking up behind you when you least expect it and justifiably kicking you in the ass.
