I few months ago I asked if anyone was interested in the YMCA. It appears the YMCA of Talbot county has taken the initiative to move into our county. As a result, I am very happy and have been swimming in a pool that is only 17 miles from Kent Island. More specifically, the Chesapeake Community College Pool is run by Talbot County YMCA and costs $23 month for a family and $18 a month for a individual membership. I have been bringing my son there since Dec 2009. Here is a link to QAC YMCA info www.talbotymca.org/qacy/. They have great hours. The Swim hours are from 6am to 8PM Monday - Friday. Saturday they have shorter hours and Sunday they are closed: www.talbotymca.org/wp-content/pdfs/chesapeake_pool_schedule.pdf

Most pools do not have an issue if you put a kid in swim diapers. I am not sure about the QAC YMCA pool. However, it is my experience in 20+ years of swimming that 'pee accidents' occur regularly with both older adults and children in all public pools. You can call the YMCA and ask for the 'aquatics director' at the YMCA of you have more questions. The number there is 410-822-0566.

Anne Arundel Swim Center does. I found some of the smaller pools in AACo. don't have issues, but their free swim times weren't compatible to our schedule. Thanks for the number, I'll give them a call.
