The new restaurant looks like it is almost ready to be opened. Anybody know any news on when, if they have a bar, what kind of food, any info? Excited about a new place!

Was supposed to open late Feb, now I have been told late April. Construction was slowed down due to the weather.
Originally was going to be called Bistro 321, now Bridges. Bistro implies an Italian flare, looks like they are putting a lot of money into it. Heard of a piano bar inside, back tiki bar, executive chef, outside seating, lots of docks for boats, gated parking lot. I'm sure it's going to be a very nice place, sort of a destination type spot that we don't currently have in the area. More along the lines like places in Annapolis Eastport section or at resort areas.
I would suspect it's not going to be inexpensive casual dining.

Isn't one of the Schulz's (owner of Fisherman's) one of the owners/investors of the Bridges......which I also believe were involved in the land swap.....where the county gave up some of the wells cove landing property in exchange for the land along wells cove road to make a new parking area. Thus, allowing sufficient land so the Bridges could be built.
I could be mistaken on this.

Looking forward to it, David Clarke from Julia's is their chef. Those of us in Centreville really miss Julia's, and hope that Bridges will be similar quality and fare. Julia's was excellent!

Julia's was rumored to be very good, but I could never get myself excited about dining in a "fish bowl"... Looked like the diners at Julia's were on display in the storefront windows.. Of course, I am sure there were a few patrons of Julia's who liked being on display... looking down their noses at the peasants on the street... Ain't it funny how sometimes we get a notion and it just won't go away.. Best regards, BC

No, The Schultz's are not involved. It is attorney Mike Foster, accountant Mike McCarthy, and a chef from the Caribbean.

I am boycotting, for no other reason than having a "gated" parking lot, just rubs me the wrong way.....

Gated parking lot so no one from the Jetty parks there. The end of the point used to be county property and overflow Jetty parking ended up out there as well. Never heard how/why the county sold the property to begin with.

I think that the Jetty should charge the people using their parking lot to get to the gated parking lot. Regardless of where or who is next to it.... making parking difficult for either establishment is ridiculous. Share people....share.....
So seriously, I hope that there are people patrolling the Jetty Parking lot and if any patrons park their car and go to the other place...tow their car.... Cause the other place will lock your car in their parking lot if you are there after they closed and use it for overflow for the Jetty....
makes no sense to me at all....Just being P R I C K S if you ask me!! JUST MY opinion.

Ate there on Saturday for a pre-opening tasting and have to say the food was excellent with a presentation similiar to Julia's. We met the chef whom I believe was previously at Julia's. Prices on menu are similiar to other are restaurants. Definitely alot of work put into the place and the view fromt he deck area is probably one of the best in the Narrows. I have to disagree with Eine on the parking though, they bought the property, seems they should do what they want with it.........if it was my place, I'd want to keep the Jetty late night drunks out of there. IMHO

Eine does have a point though. You do have to use the Jetty parking lot as a through way. And I'm sure if they're busy, overflow will end up in the Jetty parking lot. I am looking forward to trying it out though.

The only actual Jetty controlled parking is directly behind them. The other lot is a part of Wells Cove Landing.

I haven't been to Fisherman's for a while, but years ago I learned it best to eat early, especially if you ordered anything fried. (used to get the fried seafood platter a lot until the ticker got plugged up)
Seemed like the later in the evening it got the more everything fried tasted the same..

Bridges, Well, lets start with the good first: The food excellent, but I already would have guessed that, but then I always loved Julia's.The "starters" that I had where perfect, good prices and good size. You can see a lot of work went into this place. I have read that some people have a problem with the gate and with no parking for outsiders. Good idea! The Jetty @ night has some people I would not want parking next to my car. Bridges is doing the right thing keeping it separate. Now if they can get rid of the head boat. Now for the bad: I was given an appetizer menu @3:37PM and was told that you could only order from this menu after 3:30 because of the kitchen change over.I wish I was told when I walked in. I asked when does the regular menu would come out? I was told 4:30 everyday. Okay, then why did they offer the people next to me a regular menu @ 3:55PM and another customer one @ 4:05. This could be a problem for people not being told. It's a shame I was starving! They had 6 tables full when I came in but I was put right next to where they had been having a meeting not an empty window table that was requested. I was told it was for parties of 4. Again several people, parties of two have been sat there after. DUH, I would have to say, yes I will eat there again and again once they get the bugs out. 18 wait staff standing around and I got 3 different answers when I asked about the menu. Three people came over for my order. Either way this place will be a great hit, we needed a place like this with excellent prices on the appetizer menu. Sorry, I did not see the regular menu even though some did @ 3:55PM.
So please if you are reading this: Can you get sandwiches after 4:30 and what happen between 3:30 and 4:30, is this no man's land? I would love to get a nice sandwich @ lunch. So now we have three great places to go: The Narrows,Bridges and old reliable Annes.
Just my own opinion so take it with a grain of salt. Lets all give Bridges our business and hope for sandwiches @ lunch?

Good review and good information. Hopefully they will read this and get some of the bugs worked out. I look forward to eating there soon.

Let me get this straight......The county pier where the poor people could go fishing for free is now a restaurant for profit. The head boat where poor people could go fishing cheap is now a problem for the people in the new restaurant. Are they going to get rid of the Waterman on the other side of the Narrows to make room for the big expensive boats next?.....The golden rule = The guy with the gold makes the rules. I would like to see Zoning Czar Jim Barton's paper work on this deal.

The problem was with the group on the boat, they left garbage on the pier and drove right over the sign going to the boat. I guess they don't understand what STOP means.
