Please help Animal Resource Foundation HVAC friends of KIO. We have someone to help repair our air conditioner. But we are poor. Is there anyone that can donate 17 lbs. of freon ? There is a leak, and we are working on that. Please help ARF. Our number is 410-643-8700. If you have any further questions, please let us know. Thank You.

Someone donated the freon, and we are hoping to have the leak repaired, and the ac running tomorrow. Thank you for asking. Meanwhile, we are using the old fashioned ac Fans with Bags of ice.

Below is a message from the Director of ARF :
As many of you may know, ARF’s Adoption Center has not had air condition for a few weeks. I want to thank Rick Colomo, Joe Fraser, John Weisman and Amy’s husband Gene Vazquez for trying everything in their power to get us air condition again. This is where we stand so far: Joe Fraser had another HVAC person come in yesterday to take a look at ARF’s air condition unit. We were told it could cost up to $2,000.00 to fix but there was a possibility that it may not be able to be fixed at all. Douglas Jemal has been kind enough to give us permission to house ARF’s animals in another building that has air condition until we can resolve this matter but we have run into some road blocks with Delmarva turning the electric on. So in the meantime we would like to put some window air conditions in at ARF’s Adoption Center before this weekend as it is suppose to be hot, hot, hot. Here is my question….does anyone have a 110 AC Unit that they are not using and could donate to ARF? We think two would be enough to cool off the Adoption Center. If so please contact ARF, 410-643-8700 or reply to this email. Crab Feast Tickets are available at ARF’s Adoption Center and The Island Yarn Boutique located at the Rainbow Plaza, 1543 Postal Road, Chester, Maryland. You will find more information on the Crab Feast in the attached Update. I want to thank everyone that has been dropping off supplies to ARF. This is so appreciated by the staff, volunteers and animals of ARF. We are still in need for bleach and paper towels. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Is ARF in Jemal's unit? Why doesn't he fix it?

A few attempts were made to fix the unit but still not functioning. The cost is too high to replace and it's not a worth doing since the building may be coming down in 2 years. The have a few portable units in place which is helping some. So...they are working on moving to another unit which I believe is next to club one. They have to get a electrical permit to get the power back on and see if all is well with that unit. Its been a slow go but still moving along.

so, it's not worth it for jemal to fix it, but it's ok to take donations to fix it??
Am I missing something?
I'm all for helping the animals out, But I aint much on throwing good money out the door...
is it just me, or is there maybe too many animal rescues too close together here? Maybe some of these outfits should MERGE and combine resources intead of duplicating efforts...
