Gerry Rafferty passed away on January 4th, he was 63. Baker street was one of his great songs, came out in 1978, the year I graduated from high school. This doesn't apply to all people, but I'm one of those that connects a certain song to a particular part of my life. Sorta of the same way you know what you were doing when some tragedy has occured. RIP Gerry

I had not heard about his passing until I read it here. I graduated in 1980 and loved his music...I think I have at least 3 of his CDs. "He's got a dream about buying some land, he's going to give up the booze and the one night stands..." From the time I first heard those lyrics I thought of my only brother who fit the part perfectly. My brother died almost two years ago, far too young, and whenever I hear Baker Street or any Gerry Rafferty song, I say a pray for him.

It has already been updated in Wiki en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerry_RaffertyI also graduated high school in '78. "City to city" played on the radio on the way to Ocean City. It doesn't seem that long ago.

He died from complications of liver failure.
