Great opening day victory today. Love this new lineup. Guthrie had a terrific effort on the mound. Great way to start off the season. Go O's!

Mike - Do you realize the Rays won the AL East last year. So this is a great start for the season.

zues911... I haven't follow baseball in years, last I remembered they sucked. I just like giving Orioles fans crap. Clearly you haven't. The Rays (they stopped being Devil Rays years ago) are the defending AL East Champions and have won the division two of the last three seasons and went to the World Series three seasons ago. Sweeping them on the road to start the season is a great accomplishment.

Good to see them get back on track last night with a nice win. This game was as important as opening day. I hope they have an "if something can go right" mentality now instead of the "if something could go wrong" mentality of the past.

The comeback last night was so much fun to watch!!!
Mr. WL was out of town so I was able to watch the game and act like a total fool when we started running those bases. ;D

In years past, they would have "given up". They didn't look at any point like they were feeling defeated or that they thought that they wouldn't win.
For me, it's not just the winning, it's also the fact that they just look like they are enjoying what they do again. (But, I'll take the "W" anyday!). ;D

5-1 is a great way to start. Once the hired guns in the middle of the line up start hitting the ball around it will be great. Loving the start.

I was at the game Sunday. What a frustrating loss. A nice effort by Guthrie wasted. Twice the third base coach held runners with two outs, both times the next batter got out - no runs. One or two clutch hits and a little more guts from the third base coach and we would have won that game. Still hard to complain about a 6-3 start. Now let's see if we can take a couple up in the Bronx!

Here we go again. I know it is very early in the season, but having a 7 game losing streak, these types of streaks normally happen later in the season.

NO NEGATIVE TALK!!! Better to get the slump now, so we can kick ass when the other teams hit their slumps!

NO NEGATIVE TALK!!! Better to get the slump now, so we can kick ass when the other teams hit their slumps! So right, esp after the game they had tonight. Runs came with 2 outs, and they looked like they were having fun again. Not that I think we'll be worrying about their playoff chances this year, but if they can play .500 ball, I'm happy. The 8-game losing streak really was disheartening.....but it's good to see them playing dominant ball from time to time, too, like tonight.

Anybody catch that game last night! What an awesome finish. I watched the whole thing. It was scoreless though 10. Then the Mariners scored a run in the top of the 11th and the O's came back (with a little help from two batters hit by pitches) and scored two runs on a single by Hardy. What a finish! What a series! Wow! Now let's do some damage down in St.Pete and get back in this race

At the end, we were just worried that Hardy wouldn't get hurt by his own teammates, lol. ;D Edit: Should have added that we watched it to the end, after turning off the game the night before when they came back in late innings......gotta stop thinking it's over before it's over!

Bergesen had a nice little 9-inning outing today! Glad he got the win, but even happier to see a pitcher going the entire game -that was a bonus. I'll miss tomorrow and most of the next series......I'm sure they don't televise O's games in Philly......the way the team is playing, I'm really disappointed now when I miss games.

I think I picked the right week to get to miss the games......was in Philly, so I didn't watch any baseball (I refuse to watch the Phils....lol).
