I was saddened to hear that Carroll Hardesty passed away a few days ago. If you live on Kent Island, there is a good chance Mr. Hardesty or one his sons built your home. I had the priviledge of working for Mr. Hardesty and two of his sons in my younger years and much of what I learned, I learned from them. The man never stopped working and was one of the best craftsmen I ever had the pleasure of working for/with.
He will truly be missed!

I never had the pleasure of learning from him directly but he was my boss's mentor. He would tell of one rule Carroll had: If you went back to your truck or any other place on the site and did not grab lumber from the pile on the way back, you would take off your tool belt and haul lumber for the rest of the day. All about efficiency. RIP Mr. Hardesty.
