Don't look at me. I'm not a mod; but yeah, it was long overdue for a move.

I find it pretty annoying that good discussions keep disappearing from this board.
Not sure why a discussion on our schools just moved to Politico.
If I got to vote, Id go for a single board - so we dont have to guess what catagory people feel it should go under. Its not like this board is overloaded with topics.

I second that, Mikey! There is just not enough topics here so why not put it all in one forum!

I agree with the move. I find it easier, not harder, to browse the threads when they are in their proper place.
** With one exception: The virtual soap box
If I remember correctly, it was created (maybe not officially) for Pete's bi-daily rants that clogged up general and political sections alike.
Now, there is so little traffic through there, I sometimes miss new threads for days.

I can see it now, over 8,000. topics in one section......
(That's how many topics are on the whole site right now)

I guess I have to agree now with bchevy. It's just that there are so many old, outdated posts. Events that have been far over with. Sales and coupons that are outdated. I am sure the reason you posted that is that you've been there and done that and it didn't work. We should recruit someone just to clean up the outdated stuff.

I can see it now, over 8,000. topics in one section...... (That's how many topics are on the whole site right now) All that is relevant are the topics from the last few days. The things that are not relevant fall to the bottom of the list. Thats the beauty of a forum like this. 8000 topics in one section is still a forum in its infancy. The way to get it "alive" and growing is to keep the new topics in one section so they are easy to find. I suspect most people don't look beyond the first section if they are like me. That is the place to "discuss anything". So topics related to "anything" should not be moved from there. Plus, the topic in question had no reference to politics anyway. Believe me, I understand the position you mods are in. Nothing you do will please everybody. Just comes with the territory. I'm just of the opinion that moving threads on a small forum like this that has about 6 times the amount of sections it needs can slow the momentum.
