This link discusses the two graphs. If you only get your news from a liberal blogger then you wind up with very uniformed people. Link to the real facts.

The QAC commissioners voted on Tuesday night to "scrap" the YMCA project. IMO, these commissioners have been out on the campaign trail and have heard how the citizens of the county really feel about this.

For real? About time they woke up and smelled the coffee. Little too little, little too late. I wont vote for any of them.

Oh darn, its not true. I called the county to confirm and here is what I learned. Mr. Dumenil is now of the opinion that the Y should maybe bring some money to QAC with them rather than leave the taxpayers on the hook for the whole 8 million. No vote was taken, only his "new" opinion noted. During capital budget talks, the Y funds were pushed back one year. See, even when these guys VOTE on something, they cannot be trusted to perform according to their vote. They did effectively kick the can to the next set of commissioners by pushing the Y donation back a year, but they have not taken us taxpayers off the hook either.

You give them credit for reconsidering the totally dumb decision those republicans agreed to initially. Another reason why I am a democrat. Besides they only kicked the can to get reelected by the likes of voters like you who will give them another chance, so they can turn around the day after the election and re-visit this again. Keep voting by party line though Jack!

Well, let's just say that they "evolved" on the issue when they found out it is unpopular (you know, the same excuse that Democrat politicians typically use).

KI transplant: I did not know republicans were capable of evolution. But you may be right considering the Rs of Arizona recently had to get their R governor to undo the laws they passed weeks earlier. Must be contagious. Either way, I wont be voting to RE-elect any of the current sitting commissioners. I was upset with the previous group wasting one million tax dollars more than needed on the Sause house. I certainly wont be voting to send this crew back to give 8 million and land away to the YMCA of Talbot. And Im not against the Y, just against giving them tax dollars. Let them raise the charitable dollars first.

Now here's a thought--can we get The Village People to do a YMCA charity concert to raise the needed funds?

Im sure the Y of Talbot is not concerned with raising funds when tax dollars are waved in front of them. But I agree, they should earn their keep, not just have it handed to them on a silver platter.
