My husband and I are trying to move out of our small apartment in the Baltimore Washington area and we took a quick look at Ellendale. I'm from Delaware so it's a step closer to where I grew up while still being able to hold the job I have over here. We are looking at the Lacrosse townhouses at Ellendale. Can anyone (hopefully some people who live there) tell me what they think of the townhomes and the community? Something that we are specifically curious about would be fees. How much are the HOA fees? What about utilities? I don't want to move in and then find out that the one company we have to buy gas from will charge us 500 a month.
I know that there was a similar post about Ellendale a year ago but half of the replies discussed Gibson's Grant. We can't afford Gibson's Grant so let's set that aside. At Ellendale we are specifically looking at the townhouses. The Baldwin homes look nice too but the townhouses are more in our price range.
Thanks for your input.

It seemed to me that someone here was critical of their dealing with Lacrosse homes--I seem to remember something about making sure you get things in writing with them. But that's good advice when dealing with any company.
I don't live in Ellendale, nor do I know of anyone who does, but it looks like it is starting to look a bit nicer over there these days.
Good luck.

I live in a lacrosse home. Quality is not great, but it really comes down to which tradesmen worked which home. I dont know much about the townhouses over there, but check the windows. Lacrosse may still be using crappy single hung windows. Old man winter blows right thru them! I love a double hung, double-paned, Anderson or other quality window. Get it in writing from them or you will never get it. You know there is a small airport right across Rt 8 from the development, if you dont like small planes flying overhead, it may not be the best location for you.
