Here's a picture of the house fire on Beachside Drive in Stevensville early this morning. Residents were not at home. Photo courtesy of Grasonville Volunteer Fire Department who responded to the fire.

Interesting that the KIVFD didn't respond to the fire since they are only a short distance away. I don't know how that works though or the details. That is quite a photo, and I am glad that all were safe. I imagine it will take a bit of time to determine the cause.

Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 07:18hrs, United Communities, Kent Island, Grasonville, and Queenstown VFD as well as QA County EMS were alerted for a dwelling fire in the 9-13 box area. Chief 9 arrived on location to find heavy smoke and fire from the house, with no occupants in the home. Chief 9 assumed command and crews began to battle the blaze from outside of the house. Once the fire was contained crews entered to extinguish any remaining hot spots within the home. A tanker task force was alerted for water supply until eventually water could be drafted from a nearby pond. Stations from the north end of Queen Anne’s County were alerted for fill in crews for the south stations, and tankers were also alerted and respond from Anne Arundel County. No injuries were sustained during the fire UCVFD.ORG
