I currently use ABB for Internet and DirecTv for television.
I was thinking of trying out ABB for their tv and TiVo as it appears to be a much improved product from years past. Directv is a great product, but it appears I could save money by bundling with ABB.
My question is, how do people like the ABB tv service as well as their TiVo? Can anyone compare it to directv?

While it is popular to bash ABB, and there are always lots of ways to pick apart any service, they are a very reliable option for cable television, internet ... and phone (which I wouldnt' bother with anymore if the bundles weren't so compelling).

my parents always had ABB internet. They switched from Direct TV to ABB TV a couple of years ago and they seemed to like it. After a while Direct tv becomes SOO expensive. I've been considering switching to ABB with Tivo too.

ABB has come a long way finally with their technology. I had ABB with TIVO. Works very well. I dropped it when my 2 year price lock was over. If you record a lot of shows though then you may want to try Dish Network with their Hopper 3. it can record up to 16 channels at once. That by the way is not a typo. ducky ,

I dropped ABB TV because for whatever reason their CSN station is the Philly market, so I couldn't get Caps games. No biggie, I figured I could buy the NHL Internet package and watch the caps games online, but ABB Internet had me in the DC market so the games weren't available online. I called ABB and they didn't have any idea why it was like that, so I switched to DTV.

When I talked to them - I specifically asked if they'd get Comcast MidAtlantic for the Caps. They said there no plans to get it, and basically suggested I connect my laptop to the TV and stream games off the internet. I, too, switch to DTV.

I use DirecTV for my cable and Atlantic Broadband for my cable and phone. You don't have to get the phone, but I like having a house phone.
I've found that DirecTV has a much better picture quality and a better selection than Atlantic Broadband. The cable company always tries to scare you saying that DirectTV won't work in storms. I've found this true in only very heavy storms and that only last a few minutes. You just need to keep an eye on DirecTV and their price creep. They try to raise their prices without you noticing, so you need to keep them in check.
I love the Genie. HD and playback/rewind in every room (up to 6).
Atlantic Broadband's picture was never HD quality. They came out dozens of times and each time they seemed to cut the ends of the cable and replace the connector saying the problem was fixed, except it wasn't. One person told me that I needed to have a new cable room from the street and even scheduled the date. They never showed and after several calls, I could never get them to replace the cable. I suspect in their mind it wasn't financially worth it to them and tey figured they could just keep replacing the cable connectors and I would get tired of calling. I've been happy with DirecTV for about 10 years, so their loss.
Drive around your neighborhood and you will notice that most every house has a dish on top. Atlantic Broadband apparently doesn't care if they lose customers.
I've been happy with DirecTV's customer service, with the exception that they try to sell you something each time you call. I've heard that Dish Network has terrible customer satisfaction, so I suggest you check them out first. Most of the dishes that I see are DirecTV.

I have had Dish Network for the 19 years that I have lived here and never had a problem with the service as far as reliability and picture quality. The only times that I had a problem was that they once put up a dish that was apparently used. That had to be replaced. They also had some issues early on with sending a truck from PA rather than MD. This was probably 13 years ago before Google Maps was big. They don't call or bother to up-sell me. They don't do anything else wrong other than charge me a small fortune. Part of that is my fault for wanting all of the channels. The other part is that all of these companies charge too much. I am hoping that will change when people flock to streaming devices for TV. That is kind of tough to do with the lousy slow Verizon internet, and THAT is the only reason that I would consider ABB.

Had the same problem with ABB and HD, although never had them come back trying to replace connectors. I knew it wasn't the cable to the house as they had already installed a new one when I first got internet from them. Their HD signal was just not as good as DirecTv.
