Social media is here to stay, and a huge part of children's lives. I have reported Twitter accounts with pornographic profile pictures, which are against the rules, on more than once occassion. The profile pictures are not blocked, even when an account is private. An account I have reported THREE times, reporting it for the first time six months ago, is still unchanged, along with other accounts with graphic profile pictures. Please take a moment to read this petition, and sign if you agree. It is up to individual parents and the community in which they raise their children to protect the increasingly shortened time of childhood innocence. Thank you www.change.org/p/vijaya-gadde-heavily-restrict-adult-content-on-twitter

Thank you for the link! Signing and sharing!! I too have reported inappropriate accounts to Twitter regarding 'confession' accounts related to our schools. From what I've researched these accounts began as a way for students to support each or for harmless fun. Of course someone took it to the exact opposite of it's intended purpose and have used them to bully and destroy the reputations of other students. I can't even attach a link to them on here in good conscience seeing as how they contain student's names and pictures. There is one account targetting one female student; only a few 'tweets' about her and all 'tweeted' on one day, but what is there is highly offensive, and if she were my daughter I would use legal means to uncover the identity of the accounts creator and press charges if at all possible!! Parents need to monitor their children's accounts and know what they are up to.
