The western shore gets "No Bay Bridge Traffic past this point"
and we get "Bay Bridge Bound? 50 is swiftest"
I vote for a new sign:
Bay Bridge bound? KEEP YOUR A$$ ON ROUTE 50 AND QUIT CLOGGING UP STEVENSVILLE
Lets get that south side of 50 service road built too.

I can't imagine sitting in that traffic week after week to go to the beach, but so many NOVA people do it all summer long. If I had the need to get away from where I live every weekend, then I would seriously consider moving...

Think about how far north people from NOVA have to travel to go over the bridge. We have discussed the "ideal" place to put a third span. Calvert County to Cambridge would be a great location and divert a lot of beach traffic away from KI, and give DC and NOVA travelers an alternate route.

haha, that was our exact words when we say those signs.."what a bunch of gays" 404 going to the beach. I believe near Denton is a sign that says "Gay Street". I never say a word to him, but my youngest son laughs every time we pass that sign.

WOW - the task force is "dazed" New Bay Bridge Not Likely POSTED: 5:54 pm EST March 4, 2007 UPDATED: 6:01 pm EST March 4, 2007 STEVENSVILLE, Md. -- Vacationers jam the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to get to the ocean, and high housing costs in the Washington and Annapolis areas have driven folks to the Eastern Shore in search of homes. The result is a traffic snarl that leaves some residents near the bridge practically housebound on summer weekends. Former Republican Gov. Robert Ehrlich assembled a task force to look at a new crossing, an endeavor that could take a decade or more and cost more than $3 billion. After a year of meetings, though, Ehrlich's task force members appeared dazed by intense opposition to any bridge proposal. They settled on a watered-down recommendation that simply called for more study. So what are the prospects for a revival of bridge talk now that Democratic Gov. Martin O'Malley is in charge? Not good. Transportation Secretary John Porcari won't rule out the idea, but he said a possible new bridge is "way down the road." www.nbc4.com/news/11169831/detail.html?treets=dc&tml=dc_7am&ts=T&tmi=dc_7am_1_06000203052007
