Kentmorr has a decent seafood selection and the prices aren't bad: www.kentmorr.com/menu.html#seafoodI like The Narrows too, but it's only a special occasion place for me. Too pricey.

Brooke, I'd say "The Narrows" is your best bet, though more expensive. Annie's has good seafood; I wouldn't call it "packaged". There's plenty of good local seafood to be had if you want to cook it yourself

;D I do cook my own local seafood. I catch it all in the Wye, Chester and Eastern Bay. I think I steamed 20 or 30 bushels of crabs this year. It was a great Summer. The food I'm more or less talking about is a good fresh Flounder sandwich or something like that. Have you ever heard of Sam and Omies in Nags Head? What about the Shrimp Shack in Buxton? Places like that have the best local seafood and it's delicious. They don't over do it.

There isn't a single place on Kent Island or in Grasonville that has good local seafood. I want fresh local rockfish, flounder even fresh fried bluefish with green beens and mashed potatos would be excellent. The problem is the packaged seafood that were getting forced down our throat!!!! I'm excluding steamed crabs because there are plenty of places to eat crabs. I want fresh local seafood prepared with common sense and nothing too fancy. I'm sorry to say that crabs are the only local seafood that I'll go out of my way for. I personally think the local fish supply is tainted, rockfish with spots, catfish with growths, and warnings from our own health depts. not to eat local fish more than once a week. Oysters filter the water, if it's in the fish it's in the oysters. I know- it's in the crabs too but I can;t give them up--- yet.I'm 2nd generation that grew up on the water and it kills me the way the bay and it's tributaries have gone downhill.

bchevy,
What are the warnings? Is it really that bad? I know that PA has been cleaning up the Susquahana, so I would think that as the bays major feeder, things would be improving. We're upstream-ish from DC, so only Baltimore and Annapolis should be the problems here now. Not sure if that's a good thing or not though...!

<---tried to buy the Bay Breeze. they don't do enough business to consider moving to a spot like where the LP Cafe was. Also tried to open an internet cafe. Couldn't come up with an investor and didn't have the funds myself. Still looking though...

;D I have people at my house just about every weekend and it's a really good time. We setup the volleyball net, ice down the beer, steam the crabs, turn on the music and let the kids play outside until they fall asleep where they drop. We leave the house open and let people come and go as they please on Saturday afternoons and night. It's a blast.

Theresa owns the spot along with her husband. She's great! It's clean, inexpensive and very good coffee and sandwiches. She will even give you a punch card for a free coffee after your card is full. They are family owned and operated and work very hard to keep the business running. Please do visit!

As AlanR said "The Spot" is in the old outlets next to ClubOne by the Narrows bridge.
They do have a nice setup with good coffee.

If you go fishing or crabbing in that area you can call her the night before and order your lunch to take with you for your trip. Call the night before, she will make and package it up and you pick it up early that morning before you launch. It's the BEST. They do have and add in the back of the "Annapolis" magazine. Come on, support your local neighbors and their businesses.

I would like to see a place that has hot and cold sandwich options, soups, fresh salads, pastries, etc. There was a place where I went to school called Third Street Deli, they had awesome sandwiches...I miss it

I think that perhaps some sort of a family place perhaps even a buffet of some sort. I heard (not sure if it was true) that the land where the car lot and pizza place is on the right of Eastbound 50 was going have a resturant built for just that purpose (buffet). I am your typical on the run Mom and I know I get take out at least 3 times a week either lunch, order pizza (Hint - I order it online at work and put it on my credit card and it is already delivered by the time I get home) or just plain fast food. The places that we do have on the Island are either fast food or high end. I have a 13 year old and I know that he has no desire to go to Sheridan's or Small Plate's to eat and would much prefer a good burger or buffett. Just a thought....

Looking at Google Earth, the Short Stop Pizza building is only about 500 feet away from water. Im sure the Cracker Barrel will be bigger than that.
Im just thinking of all that parking-lot run-off into Cox Creek. That will be gross.

I dunno, between the Short Stop Pizza center and the trailers looks like enough room.

I as a local think Double T is a great choice!! I do see how a Cracker Barrel would be a good tourist attraction though. It is amazing the numbers of people who cross that bridge and would probably stop just because of name recognition. Butthen again they may stop at Double T as well. Whatever gets put there I wish them well and I hope it helps all the surrounding business's as well.
