Narrative: Dfc. Fraser stopped a passenger car for a traffic violation at Cox Neck Road and Old Point Road. Dfc. Fraser made contact with the driver and smelled a strong odor of alcohol emanating from her breath. The juvenile failed standardized field sobriety tasks and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. She was released to her parent pending a court date.

Incident: Driving without a license / Wanted in Delaware
Date & Time Reported: 07/25/2011 @ 1144 Hours
Location: Route 304 near Ruthsburg
Arrested: Bradley Michael Zahner (23) of Henderson, MD
Charges: Driving w/o Driver’s License / Fugitive Warrant
Narrative: Sheriff Hofmann was stopped on the shoulder of Rt. 304 near Mason Branch Road when a van nearly struck his vehicle and continued at a high rate of speed. Sheriff Hofmann verified the speed of the van with radar at 77 MPH. The van was stopped near Greenville Road prior to Rt. 301 and the driver was identified as Bradley M. Zahner who told the Sheriff he did not have a license. Two other adults in the van also did not have a valid license. A check of Zahner indicated that he was wanted in Kent County Delaware for Burglary, theft and conspiracy. Zahner was taken into custody without incident issued traffic citations and was held on a fugitive warrant pending return to Delaware.

Narrative:
Dfc. Sewell responded to the above location for a reported burglary in progress. Upon arrival it was determined that the victim had the suspect detained in the basement of the residence. The victim advised he was woke up when he heard a noise in the basement of the residence along with his dog barking. The suspect identified as Nicholas Ryan Harper was placed under arrest and transported to the Sheriff’s Office. The suspect was later seen by the District Court Commissioner and released on PR.

Narrative:
Dfc. Sewell responded to the above location for a reported theft. Upon arrival it was determined that an employee had been stealing Catalytic Converters from the scraped vehicles. It was found that the suspect was cutting the converters off the vehicles and placing them into a white 5 gallon bucket with a blue top. Dfc. Sewell completed his investigation and found that Bradley was leaving with the stolen converters at the end of his shift. Dfc. Sewell was able to verify that the stolen items were with Bradley when he left work. A traffic stop was performed on Bradley’s vehicle where the items were located as described. Bradley was arrested and charged with Theft. Bradley was later released PR.

Narrative:
Dfc. Watts while working patrol in the area of Grasonville received a broadcast for a possible intoxicated driver driving beige colored Hyundai. Dfc. Watts located the vehicle at 1241 Bennett Point Rd (Bennett Point Store) and made contact with the driver (Jessica Rose Tryon ) who was being loud and yelling at the passenger of the vehicle. Tryon was stumbling around the parking lot and walking off balance. Tryon was issued standardized field Sobriety tests which were unsuccessfully performed. Tryon was placed under arrest at the scene, a search was conducted of Tryon and her vehicle where suspected CDS was located. Tryon was released on the scene pending the lab results for the suspected CDS located in the vehicle.

There was also a piece of siding found on the residence with 2 cracks. The total cost of damage was estimated at $400 dollars.

While speaking to the juvenile Dep. Miller detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath and person. Standardized field sobriety tests were issued and completed unsuccessfully. The juvenile was placed under arrest and charged with related Driving under the Influence charges.

Narrative: DFC Boyles investigated fraudulent traveler’s checks that were used to make purchases at two businesses in Queenstown, MD. Investigation revealed that between 07/19/2011 at 1400 hrs and 07/19/2011 at 1700 hrs, an unknown black male suspect entered two stores at the Queenstown Outlets. The suspect made purchases of merchandise using traveler’s checks. The suspect also received cash change from those purchases. The purchases and cash change totaled approximately $200. Both stores were later notified by their financial institutions that the traveler’s checks were fraudulent. Investigation is ongoing.

Narrative: DFC Boyles investigated the theft of a motorcycle from a public parking area in Chester, MD. Investigation revealed that sometime between 1530 hrs on 07/30/2011 and 1745 hrs on 07/30/2011; unknown suspect(s) took the victim’s 2002 Desperado custom motorcycle. The motorcycle had become disabled at approximately 1530 hrs, and had been placed in the parking lot awaiting repair. The motorcycle is described a black and silver, with purple flames on the fuel tank and rear fender. It has a single saddle, straight handle bars, and a chrome scoop near the lower front of the frame. It was displaying a Texas tag (3JF356) at the time it was taken. The motorcycle is valued at approximately $20,000.

A total of 5 bottles of vodka were taken by the suspect during the two theft occurrences. Total value stolen is approximately $160.

Narrative: Victim reported that someone took a green Mongoose Bicycle from his residence. Victim reported that he grabbed the Suspect and pulled him off of the bicycle. The subject was with four to five other people who then fled on foot. The Suspect was described as a black male with freckles who was wearing a blue hat, white shirt and blue jeans. The Victim pursued the suspect along with the others onto Rt 213 where he lost sight of them when they ran into the woods. The bicycle was recovered by the Victim.

Hofmann located a Mongoose BMX bicycle in the roadway circle near the Victims house. The bicycle was stored at the Sheriff’s Office awaiting location of the owner.
