Incident: Malicious Destruction of Property
Date Reported: 08/04/2011 0323 hrs
Location:
1. Dulin Clark Road Centreville, MD
2. Corsica Neck Road Centreville, MD
3. Spider Web Road Centreville, MD
Victim: Approximately 26 victims throughout the area
Narrative: DFC Boyles investigated damages done to mailboxes, road signs, and real estate signs in the Centreville area. A caller reported seeing several mailboxes damaged on Dulin Clark Road at approximately 0323 hrs. Upon arrival of law enforcement, it was determined that approximately 26 victims existed in the area, with damages done to mailboxes, road signs, and real estate signs. Further investigation revealed that the damages appeared to have been intentionally caused by a vehicle striking and/or running over the victims’ property. Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office personnel began searching an area approximately 1 mile long on foot for any possible evidence. That search recovered tire marks on several road signs from a truck style tire, silver paint transfer from the suspect vehicle, and a license plate near one of the damaged mailboxes. The license plate appeared to have been torn from the front of the suspect vehicle. Deputies then responded to the registered owner’s address and observed a maroon/silver Ford truck with body damages that appeared to coincide with the damages done to the mailboxes. An interview of the 19 year old male driver was conducted, and the male suspect admitted intentionally destroying mailboxes and signs as he drove through the area. Charges for the male suspect are pending application, and finalization of the investigation. Damages are estimated at over $1,000 however a final damage total cannot be determined until all victims have been identified and interviewed.
