I saw a guy in school give a teacher the finger.
Teacher grabbed said finger and with a simple push back, walla! He had a changed attitude.
It's KIDS guys..... I hate to quote "deputy"- but, the kids have to be there, enforce the rules, OR if there's too much time between classes...... giving them time to make out in the hall,,,,,
SHORTEN THE TIME between classes.
It's called common sense.
Answers are easy. Making people do their job is tough-
With all the parent participation I've seen (A LOT) in my 12 years dealing with the QA Schools, It would be a SNAP to get parent volunteers in the halls.
Most kids do NOT want to go to the office for any kind of trouble. The ones that don't mind... need more personal attention.....

I think a little backing from the administration would go along way with the teachers in the classroom.

Good Lord, try putting your hands on any child in a school today that is NOT your own and see how far that gets you!! Fired and sued is my guess. I might sound like my grandmother when I say this, but I when I was coming up anybody carrying the title 'MOM' was allowed to reprimand me, regardless where I was at the time or who I was with. My whole neighborhood was filled with moms belonging to someone, all I knew was that they could swing a switch just as fast and hard as my own parents. The whole 'It takes a village" concept has gone the way of the "It takes a lawsuit". No one in their right mind is going to grab a childs finger, regardless of which one they are pointing at you, and teach anyone a lesson. With that we have totally taught our children that there are no consequences for their actions and that adults fear them.

As kids if we were dumb enough to complain about being reprimanded for bad behavior, what we got at home was far worse than the initial reprimand. Today the kid gets a lawyer.

ljp.......The good Cops hands are tied along with the good Teachers...Why? = Abuse of power...Example: The Miranda Warning... The bad Cop would beat confessions out of people etc.. Same goes for the bad teacher. As a kid I can remember the whole class being punished for the behavior of one student.....As a retired Police Officer, and three track track coach at the high school, I will tell yout this. The bad apples are too often protected by the system...Push 1 for English.
