Why do the same few people hijack a thread with comments that don't pertain to the subject?
Lots of good subjects and interesting comments but injecting lame comments just aren't helpful or funny.

So I've got to read through a couple pages of "conversation" to get to any useful comments about the topic?

I don't know, but let me tell you how I don't trust the local police and random drug searches and how your rights are being violated by someone.... ;D

There's an Applebee's in Glen Burnie isn't there? We're not turning into Glen Burnie are we? ;D
BTW, I agree that most threads get way off topic too soon, my jokes are aimed at the fact that the reason is nearly always related to the same 5 topics - police, growth on the island, etc.

You are right, but a thread is a 'conversation' about a particular topic. Eventually the conversation changes and then the subject does. If a thread starts talking about Day care and then there is no more to say about Day Care and in someone's post there is a comment about how their day care person is also their lawn care person then the conversation changes to lawn care. Then someone who hasn't read the threads in a few weeks comes in and answers the original question and people start B*tching that they have to sift through crap to read a topic.
It's not rocket science to figure out how and why a thread will go in a different direction. If you want information in a organized fashion buy a magazine with a table of contents and quit raining on my parade.

I agree though, if you want to hijack a thread or not, if you have a new subject- start a new thread. I harldy looked at the Mom's club thread, and that got ugly on me...ME!@
