If you would like to see a emergency facility in QA County consider signing the petition at this link. E.J Pipkin has introduced this bill. www.qaernow.com/

I though that the new AA Medical Center on Main St in Chester was going to have an Emergency room? If no, what's the point?

No, the AAMC is simply a doctors office. It'll be like all of the other AAMC off hospital and on hospital buildings. Doctors, Dentists, Sleep Centers, maybe a nite time pediatrics, Surgeons etc... Not a full blown hospital www.aahs.org/seminars/ontheshore.php

www.sentinelwhispers.com/Some interesting stuff on above site about this issue that I hadn't thought about. Is a freestanding ER of any use for people having heart attacks, since they can't be admitted/operated on? I wonder if it will be much different than an urgent care center other than ambulance transportation. I signed the petition weeks ago.

Some interesting comments on the issue in the Editorial section of the Baytimes this week - a few from people who work or have worked in the industry.

I heard the Easton Hospital is looking to move to Q.A.County? Either 50 at 404, or 50 at 213?
That would about negate the need for any of this wouldn't it?

I think a battle is brewing here.
AA Med didnt plan an ER, because they were not allowed when they designed the facility. They said if QAC could get the law changed, they would consider adding an ER.
Well, QAC is about to get the law changed, and now U of Md Med has just agreed to build the ER.
AA Med is saying, hold on, what about us.
The interesting thing is that U of Md owns the Easton hospital now, and the rumors are they want to move it from Talbot to QAC.
Could get interesting ...

From what I understand the bill that Pipkin introduced is coming up on Tuesday. Apparently this was serious.
