Pets Don't Have To Be Caged in Pickups:
The Maryland Senate has voted against a bill that would have required pets to be caged or harnessed when riding in the back of pickup trucks. The bill resulted in fierce debate with some state senators declaring their love for dogs. "The Washington Post" reports the bill's sponsor, Senator Norman Stone, told his colleagues, "I've owned a number of dogs over the years and I just got a new one." The pet advocacy group "Bark Buckleup" argued that 25 other states have similar laws. Senator Lowell Stoltzfus told fellow lawmakers, "If this bill passes, Rover won't have a ride, and you're going to have a lot of unhappy dogs."

I just hope people have common sense and put them in a cage, or harness, better yet put them in the car w/them. I have 2 labs and I would NEVER have them in the back of a pick up. I seen some idiot with their dog in the back of a pick up going over the Bay Bridge.....
