It appears the woman at the heart of last August 10th's deadly crash on the Bay Bridge will not be facing any more penalties after paying 470-dollars in fines last month. The "Annapolis Capital" reports 19-year-old Cathy Baldwin of Millington on the Eastern Shore was charged with negligent driving, failure to drive to the right of center and violating a license restriction in connection with the incident which took the life of 57-year-old truck driver John Short Sr. of Willards. Baldwin was not required to appear in court to pay the fines. In December, prosecutors decided Baldwin should not be tried for manslaughter or other criminal charges. The young woman fell asleep at the wheel last August and when her car crossed into the opposing lane of traffic, she sideswiped Short's rig. The truck driver in trying to prevent a bigger accident swerved into a concrete barrier and wound up going into the Chesapeake Bay.
