From the Baltimore Sun: www.baltimoresun.com/news/local/politics/bal-speed-cameras0331,0,7141427.story So much to dislike about this. I saw references to $10M income in one year, 70% reduction in speeding, and the ability to cut core services. What I did not see is any reference to a decrease in accidents or injuries. This is for our protection, not for revenue enhancement. That's why any profit from the cameras will be going back to the State rather than the inefficient and corrupt local governments. Soon we'll get to see what the backups will be like when they install cameras to stop the carnage on the bridge and keep us all at a safe 45mph in the "work" zone that is the Bay Bridge.

while i don't like the cameras cause i think's it just another way to make money - i do like the idea of them in school zones or even neighborhoods - on the highways or major roads - not so much...

The vote passed and they are now going to be used. I guess if something fails a vote they just keep having more votes until it passes?!?!?

Yep, Maryland where you have one final vote after another until the result comes out the way the State wants it.
These guys are definitely being paid way too much to be so spineless.

A Maryland Tea Party.
Wait! Another thought -- let's go cry to O'Bama and make him regulate their salaries, too. Stimulus, Bail-Out -- whatever. Actually....that's probably next....
