How long has it been since the fire? What's it like two or three years now? Are they going to sell that property, rebuild, or just leave it as a gutted eyesore till the end of time? Anybody got the scoop on this place?

Apparently Sonny Shultz bought the property and is giving it to his three sons to develope. After whatever is going to be put their, condo etc, the profit will be split between the sons.

That's too bad. I kind of liked that place and they had good deal every now and then. Good crabcakes if I remember right.
Didn't they find a body in that fire or something? Wasn't there more to that story?

I was told they were going to put a diner there. Similar to the one in Annapolis at Rt 2 and West Street.

Is that similar to a Double T or an actual Double T? A diner might work well in that spot, especially if it was open 24hrs.

I see that The Shanty (across the street and once co-owned by Anglers) has been re-done. It looks nice too. Who' s running that now?

The Shanty is a blast in the summer. It's definitely in much better condition now than it used to be. I can't remember for sure but I want to say Fisherman's has something to do with Shanty

Shoreterp if I remember the story right, (I might be fuzzy on the details it has been awhile) someone (I think it may have been one of the owners) stole money. Either he set the fire to cover it then hung himself or hung himself in there after the investigation started. Something like that, but yea....he hung himself inside.

Their was a development proposal submitted to the county to build a 7900 sq foot restaraunt named "Angler's". It is currently listed as "inactive", meaning no activity for over 6 months.
Don't know why.

The Shanty is being leased to Al Wysong (DJ AL) from Shultz. I was there on Saturday. They must have just finished painting it because you could smell it. Looks nice.

Yikes I knew something spooky went on there. I wonder if the diner replacing it will be haunted ;D

I miss the crab omelete for breakfast - good food without all the frills.

Frank -- as an ex-employee of Anglers, I come to tell you that Crab Bisque was a powered mix, add milk and a can of crab meat and wa-la.
Yes it d**n good... but not homemade..

Thanks Mike, I'll be walking in a fog for days after hearing that! It was so good. How could it be instant? Better yet, where can I get it?

I don't remember the name, it was in a brownish-tan package... it wasn't made locally. To be totally honest it was lobster based and we added crab.

Either he set the fire to cover it then hung himself or hung himself in there after the investigation started. Something like that, but yea....he hung himself inside. He was a "shareholder" and he shot himself. He was in the family. Al Wysong is running "The Big Owl" (The Shanty) and It's not Sonny who owns the property. I for one DO NOT miss the "food" at Anglers. The makings for potato skins were ala carte, meaning you paid for the skin, cheese (cheese whiz like sauce) and the bacon all separately. Also the "condo" idea is being pushed and waiting for county approval or disapproval.
