Hi I'm new to Kent Island, and am looking for a good daycare provider who is willing to keep my daughter later than normal daycare hours a few days a week. The total hours would be approx 25-27 hours, but we are willing to pay for full time care because the hours are a little crazy. The schedule would be....
Mon 11am-7:30 or 8pm Tues off Wed 11am-7:30 or 8pm Thurs 12:30-7:30 or 8pm Fri 11am-1pm
We live in Cloverfields and would like someone who already has pre-schoolers that they drop off and pick up from kent-island elementary, so that we can have our daughter in pre-K. We have looked into stepping stones and kiddy academy but their hours are only until 6 or 6:30. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. We have had a few bad daycare experiences in the past and are fearful of repeating history. Thanks

There used to be a daycare association I think. It's been a while since we did the daycare deal. There should be someone who can help.

thanks for the reply, although I'd really love a personal reference from someone who has had a good experience from a day care provider. As apposed to just calling up the local child services dept.

You may want to check the front desk at the local school. Although they can't officially endorse an individual provider, the people there are usually locals who know who is who in the area and will steer you in the right direction 'unofficially'.
The Missus ran a licensenced daycare in AA County for 15 years and the two schools closest to the house knew who was good and who wasn't. Mom's and kids talk.

No problem!! I will catch up with her this weekend probably!! Blue Mule is right though - that's how I found my "part-time" sitter - for when me & the hubby want to go out... Although not what you're looking for... but definitely an avenue.... I'll email you with her info probably this weekend or even monday... since you're now a member I can also PM you...

I would suggest if you are new to the area, joining the Moms Club at www.chesapeakemomsclub.org. They are full of info, and I'm sure someone there could give you a good recommendation. Good Luck!!!
