Choice Hotel Chain (Sleep Inn, EconoLodge etc) announced a new upscale hotel chain. They opened the first of 51 this week, but they are claiming to build one on Kent Island. Here is the link.. washingtontimes.com/business/20070430-095034-1527r.htmI looked at the proposed development list from the county, and didn't see anything. Does anyone know where they plan to put this upscale hotel?

It sounds to me that they don't build the hotels, they just lease the name and in return promote it heavilly. My best guess is that one of the existing hotels is changing over to them. Maybe the Best Western or Sleep Inn?

Since a lot of people like to claim Grasonville as part of Kent Island, the hotel location could be anywhere before the split. ;D

Rich, sure hope it's not the Best Western there off of the water. I stayed there last month, prior to one of the status hearings, and I have to say, I enjoyed it, and was well worth the price.

Good points. Could be the Sleep Inn being converted. Its before the split, so I guess its on Kent Island.

The Sleep Inn would be my guess too. Best Western didn't change from Comfort Inn all that long ago, so I can't imagine another name change. The Holiday Inn seems to be doing very well and it just looks like a Holiday Inn - but I guess so did the Holiday Inn in Annapolis on "Holiday Ct." that is now a Double Tree. Same building, twice the price
