Nope, NOT a right, at least not a right for ALL. Definition of that means I'll be paying for it for someone who doesn't EARN IT. So we found Palin's death panel. Invisible User. Civilized countries take care of their own. You mean like The Netherlands (#17 on your WHO list, 20 places above the US), after euthanasia was legalized in 1996? It's been estimated that about 20% of the cases were done without the patient's explicit consent according to the UK Times

Hi all....If I could pick one thing to change healthcare, it would be to get rid of privatized , wasteful, managed care..Why? Ive been a mental health therapist for 20 years, now retired......Ive worked in the trenches and pretty much seen it all...I watched while private managed care companies like Blue Cross Blue Shield and Kaiser denied people care while they increased premiums....They waste incredible amounts of money on free clocks and pens and note pads and fgree lunches for doctors while they deny free medications to needy people who cant afford them...That is wrong...You think your doctor is the authority on your healthcare?..No, managed care paperpushers who arent trained or licensed or credentialed decide what kind of healthcare you get , how much and what you cant have...your healthcare provider does NOT do this, we have to get permission from the health insurance company for all medical decisions..Would you hire a plumber to fix your car?..Then why pay BCBS to deny you care when they arent even the provider?...I got sick of being in the sick system where consumers dont really know how bad it is and how much of their money is wasted by managed care...And managed care isnt regulated either...so you already have limited, controlled care...At least govt healthcare is monitored and would be audited if it doesnt do what it say it will...While Blue Cross Blue Shield is allowed to waste your money unchecked and unmonitered...Just because its a business doesnt mean it doesnt waste your money or that you getting the best care...As a therapist, I earned 30% of what managed care charged to clients..That means managed care got 70% for their profits for essentially denying people care and cutting corners.....Something to think about...

Hi Folks - well, I started this thread and it did go here and there I never did post my "one" thing, but this evening I did respond to another post that I think shows us we are coming full circle in this debate (I mean those of us who participate on this forum.) I'm not advocating giving anything up, but I do agree with RobMoore that we have pretty much exhausted the topic - at least for the time being. My post is on the Health Care and The Town Hall Meeting thread...
