Hey there everyone. I was hoping someone could answer a question for me. I was at the dentist the other day, and they had a magazine called "The Smithsonian". In this magazine they had an article, and in the article was some information about Kent Island. There was a picture in the article of what appears to be some condo's going along a road that is a small peninsula, with some boat docks near it.
The condo's looked relatively new, and there as a single road that led to these condos. I believe it showed four garage doors on the front of each one. Each place was trimmed in white I believe.
Does anyone know the street or the name of the condo development? Or the location I am speaking of?
Any help would be great.

I should have mentioned that I live in Madison, WI, and am contemplating a move for the family to New England, and this seems like an option based on what I have researched so far.

That does sound like Narrows Pointe, next to Mears Point Marina. They go for approx. $1.5 mil or so.

Brian stay in WI... it's way nicer. Can you elaborate? Don't pay any attention to him, he just comes in here to mess with people and "stir the pot". This is a very nice area to live and it is close to everything. I moved here 10 years ago from Rockford IL and while I still love my hometown, I also love this area. The pluses are the scenery, sunsets are amazing here, the Chesapeake Bay and all that it has to offer including boating, the nice breeze, and great seafood, the proximity to Annapolis, Washington and Baltimore, and the ocean, and the relative closeness of a major airport (BWI), Redskins / Ravens NFL, Orioles/Nationals MLB, the Dover racetrack and Dover Downs Slots, and many other big things to do. The downside is that the housing costs are high and utilities are high. Taxes are average and the weather is not extreme, so the heating isn't too bad when compared to IL. There is a bit of a hillbilly thing going on as you go further into the Delmarva Peninsula, and some of that bleeds into this area with the NASCAR / Toby Keith types complaining about the city-folk, etc., but it's not too much to be anything but funny.

So a troll in other words? Ugh...I hate trolls. I am not into the "hillbilly" thing, but my wife love country music, and I do enjoy watching NASCAR on TV on occasion. However, I will always be a Packers fan! The wife is looking for "many things to do" as it's rather boring here in Madison.

Brian - I'm with David - Kent Island is a great place. GBM is just a bitter old dog... tee hee... no seriously - he just likes to stir the pot... that's all - he lives out on the border of delaware in the country... it's definitely different out there... but we still love 'em... anyways - my fiance and I relocated here about 3 years ago now... I love it... reminds me of my hometown... people are friendly - for the most part - area is nice - schools are awesome - and your wife if she looks hard enough will find PLENTY to do around this area!!! Best of luck & hope to hear you've moved in

I can't wait to watch this develop This is a very nice area by the way and winters are mild to near nonexistent most years, so it will be a nice change from Madison. Only bad part is the cost of housing which has really gotten out of hand (particularly anything near the water) the last few years, but if you can afford it you'll be very happy here.

A TROLL?!?!?!
How dare you sir. If you can't tell by my status, I'm far from a troll. I'm a truth speaker Mr. David L. Guest. If anyone is a troll its you calling me a troll.
Brian, my friend. Wisconsin is a beautiful state, I fell in love with it. "The Island" is not what you think when you think island. Most of the people who live here now are people from the "City", they move here to get away from city life and think they can change the world by being ANTI DEVELOPMENT and SAVE THE WETLAND! Little do they know... we've been destroying wetlands and cutting down trees for years... did you know every day I see thousands of trees on my way to work... and guess what? We'll never run out of them.
But anyway, the place is a sess pool, full of corruption on the state and local levels. Don't move to Kent Island, don't move to Maryland in general. Your back end will hurt from the taxes and hurt from the price you pay for you house.
Move to Delaware or Pennsylvania... stay away from VA, NJ, MD and DC... you and your wallet will be happy you did.....

Jeez, GBM - MD is a dream compared to places like NY and NJ... It costs more to live in places where the residents have all of there teeth

GBM if it's so awful here - then why do you hang around on our message board? Doesn't Greensboro have a message board where you can insert your "witty" quips? I LOVE living on KI - wouldn't want to live any place else. And your recent posts are nothing more than trolling - You haven't had much productive to say in a long time.

"contemplating a move for the family to New England . . ."
I'm not sure I would consider a state that is south of the mason-doxon line as 'new england.'

For the record, I never called him a troll. David said "Don't pay any attention to him, he just comes in here to mess with people and "stir the pot". So I was asking if he was considered a troll based on that description. No matter, he has spoke his mind, and I appreciate his input. I appreciate everyone's input so far, and it's nice to see the community on a forum like this to share their experiences and offer assistance. Living by the water does interest me, but as usual, it will depend on the pricing (and I want to live by people with all their teeth ). To the person who commented that they wouldn't consider MD part of New England, you are correct..it's not. However, out of bad habit I just consider it New England because of it's far east location compared to where I live. I am also a big golfer, so I am excited to see that there are many golf courses out there on the east coast.

Brian, Not sure if you've seen this - but Queenstown Links is right by us: www.mdgolf.com/I'm not a golfer, but I've heard that this course is great. There is also an inexpensive golf course in Stevensville / Romancoke, off Rte 8, but I'm not sure of the name... There are a bunch within a 45 minute frive as well.

Brian stay in WI... it's way nicer. Brian - You'd enjoy "the Island", just beware of Greensboro GBM- What's up with the attached article - crime in Greensboro Boy Accused Of Beating Grandmother With Skateboard(AP) GREENSBORO, Md. A boy who police say didn't want to go to school allegedly beat his grandmother with a skateboard, sending her to the hospital. A 46-year-old Greensboro, Md. woman was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore Tuesday morning after the argument with her grandson, a 13-year-old boy not named because of his age. Police told The (Easton) Star Democrat that the boy, a middle school student, hit his grandmother with a skateboard during an argument over going to school. She was listed in serious condition. The boy was charged with second-degree assault. According to Greensboro Police Chief Jeff Jackson, the boy has been in trouble with the law more than a dozen times since 2003. The boy was also charged with assaulting his sister on Monday. The teen was being held by the Department of Juvenile Services.
