I am one of the Student Government Association advisors for KIHS. Our goal is to keep the community informed and involved on activities sponsored by the SGA.
On October 19th Spirit Week will kick off and culminate with the dance on Saturday from 8-11pm.
One of the ways we are hoping to involve local businesses is by asking for donations to be used as raffle and door prizes for the students during the Pep Rally and Dance. If your business is interested in donating a gift certificate or merchandise, you may contact me directly via email or PM to make arrangements.
We are also seeking chaperones for the dance. If you have a student attending KIHS you are eligible!
The theme this year is "An Evening in the Amazon". To create a real rainforest look, we are decorating with as many real trees and plants as possible. If you are able to loan your greenery from a home or business, that would be greatly appreciated.
If you have a local organization that would like to join the parade, applications are available and due by October 21st.
For any details, questions, concerns, or volunteering - please contact me at CoutureL@qacps.k12.md.us.
Thanks so much! Let's Go Bucs!

KIHS Homecoming football game and dance are this Friday and Saturday!
The SGA has collected many donations from "local" and "not-so-local" (Annapolis) businesses in the area. As I have been the one going to all of these locations and connecting with the owners or managers, I would like to take the time to thank everyone that was able and willing to contribute a piece of their time and business to the door prizes that will be presented during the dance.
"Local": R's Americanita By the Beach Tanning Fisherman's Inn Harris Crab House Annie's Rams Head Shore House Kentmorr Kent Manor Inn Whit's End Salon and Spa Mr. Tire Pizza Hut Willis' Tire and Auto Chesapeake Chocolate La Fontana Papa Johns Shore Blooms Oh My Chocolate and more to possibly add soon!
Annapolis: The Melting Pot Eastern Mountain Sports Maggie Moos (Riva location) Fuddruckers
If you or someone you know own a business and would like to contribute to the event, OR if you have a child who attends the High School and you would be able to chaperon (come on, you know they want you there keeping an eye on them) please contact my wife at the email address listed in the above post.
Thank You again to ALL of the businesses for their contributions!!!

Oh, now you got me started!! I would like to start this off by apologizing to the owners of a white jeep and a black volvo for the scratches and dents that I left on your vehicles in the KIHS parking lot during the homecoming game.
I parked in the HS lot to watch the parade. Got a great spot and was quite proud of myself to think to park there early. Went to the game and decided to leave after half time to bring 3 boys home. But, when I got to my car, some inconsiderate Bastages made that impossible. I was blocked in front by a white jeep and behind by a black volvo! Oh, I was pissed!! I have a small car, so I tried to manuver my way out, but no way. Went to the announcement box with the plate numbers, like that was going to work. After hanging by my car for a while, the car next to me left, and I was finally able to get out. So much for leaving early! Talk about inconsiderate and ignoring common sense?!?!?!

............and the parking habits of the parents will continue through their kids. We teach them well.
Any event at the school will find the fire lane filled with cars, and even busses, while there are plenty of space out in the lot. Bugs the crap out of me.

There seems to be lots of vandalism of cars going on in the parking lot at the high school, maybe feel it is safer to park near the crowd.

There's no excuse for parking on the grass, and clogging up the driveway. Start ticketing them and raise some revenue.
