Thanks for all the good info guest. I didn't know half of what you wrote about. Tell me, what kind of weapon can they use to shoot the deer? Is any type of gun legal? Is an automatic weapon allowed? Good lord, do you know anything about hunting? Nope, I get my meat from Sams. I moved from Las Vegas to the Island! WTH do I know? When their automatic weapons go off in rapid succession, it sounds like a scene from the movie Scarface most mornings. BC seems to have pegged these so called hunters. Hooligans. There are hunters every Sunday by the way.

There are hunters every Sunday by the way. Couple things. I really doubt you are hearing automatic fire. Machine guns, although legal, are VERY rare and extremely expensive. I think you may be hearing several guns going off at the same time perhaps. When you go goose hunting for example everyone in the blind will fire at the same time (up to three rounds each) which can give the sound of quick rapid fire. Maybe there is duck or goose hunting going on in your area - but I don't think it's in season right now. Also, just because you hear shots on Sunday doesn't mean it's hunters. I live near a skeet range (Pintail Point) and there is lots of shooting from there on Sundays, but not from hunters.

I know the sound that a shotgun makes and have heard those also. No, they are not machine guns, I was trying to make a point. They are however automatic weapons. Last I checked there are no skeet ranges in Cloverfields. No goose blinds, this is a thinning area of woods. Just want safety to be followed...

OK, just to clear this up, an automatic weapon is a machine gun. An automatic weapon fires continuously with one pull of the trigger. A semi-automatic gun is one that reloads itself after the shot but only one shot is fired with each pull of the trigger.

Actually this year is region B which includes QACo you can kill 2 Antlered and 10 antlerless deer for each season: shotgun, muzzleloader, and bow. Where exactly and at what time did you see this guy in the tree bow hunting? I know last year they had a problem in there. A friend of mine was walking her dog at night and confronted two guys after hours butchering a deer. She said she felt unsafe and threatened at their comments so she got the heck out of there.
I walk my dog there sometimes and the crowd can be questionable.

I'm beginning to think that after this thread there will be an aritcle in the Bay Times within the next several weeks about the illegal "hunters" (read outlaws) caught hunting in Terrapin Park..
Hopefully the DNR will take the time to take a stroll in the park early Sunday morning before it gets daylight..
Best regards, BC

There probably a not-too-well defined line marking the park property vs the private property. If they were hunting on the bordering private property (with the owner's consent) it is legal. If they were on the park property it is not.
It is possible that they simply made a mistake and were just over the property line unknowningly. If it's not well marked it's just about impossible to tell.
Not trying to defend them, just saying we don't know for sure.

Actually where this guy was he was most definitely not on border ground.
The swampy area inland from the gazebo on the beach: on the bay side of that water area away from the gazebo towards 50, in a tree is where he was. No doubts about being 'IN' the park there.

Well in that case a call to DNR is definitely warranted. It's people like that that give the rest of us real hunters a black eye.

Not everyone has them, not everyone understands them. The only way they will know is if we tell them. Remember, the uninformed people are the ones voting against our guns, and against our rights to own them. tks

Well I finally found out where at least some of the gun shots are coming from over here near the Bay City area.
The VFW has a range in back of the building. I heard the shoits for hours the other day & so I went hunting. Pulled in by the church & then saw the guys out behind the VFW.

The Elks Sunday Turkey Shoot!! Now there's a fun time. I used to go quite often when I lived in Claibornes Landing..
I just might have to go down there Sunday and see if I can win a turkey bird for thanksgiving!
Best regards, BC
