Walter Cronkite was certainly a shining example of an exceptional journalist and, from what I understand, an amazing man. He will be missed by many.

He had high standards for accuracy and unbiased reporting that cannot be matched by any reporter or anchor on the air today. I suspect that many people, including myself really did not know many of his personal political views until he retired, and even then it was an open, honest and low key expression of his views when asked, because covering the news, not making it, was important to him.
