She passed away today following a freak ski accident. www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Movies/03/18/obit.richardson/index.htmlShe was Liam Neeson's wife, and one of Vanessa Redgrave's daughters. Those of you with daughters of a certain age may have watched "The Parent Trap" (Lindsey Lohan version) in which she played the mother. Very sad, only 45.

Yes, sad and eye opening about how serious a head injury can be regardless of how minor it may seem at the time.
It ain't worth the risk to not wear a helmet or put one on your kids when they are biking or skating, etc..
Best regards, BC

Y'know, I went skiing last March (for the first time in 25 years, which was probably the most scary part) and the only thing I thought about was "stay away from the treeline". You think of Sonny Bono and Michael Kennedy, hitting a tree at peak speed. ("Peak" speed for me would be laughable for most of ya'll out there, lol). I only fell once....while standing in line for the lift. I wasn't moving, just standing. The whole time I was on the slopes, I just took my time and focused on control and staying out of everyone else's way. When it got slushy, and started messing with my knees, I went in. When it got cold again, I went out just long enough for it to start to ice over, and I went in. I'm a novice, I know I'm a novice, and I am old enough that just that one fall (while standing...sheesh!) got me into the hot tub to be sure I didn't lock up anywhere. It's heck getting old! But I never thought, as a novice, that I could injure myself badly; just embarrass myself a little.
I have to wonder just how she fell. I know you can fall on the "bunny slope" but she must have hit just right, or in this case, just wrong. Makes me want to re-think helmet/no helmet.
Very, very sad situation, and freak accident. Such a loss for her family.
