I have family coming to visit for 5 nights and they require a hotel/lodging. I'm not familiar with the hotel/motel/b&Bs on/around Kent Island because I've not needed to stay in one... Any recommendations?
Rich: I have looked at the advertisements and info on the site -- it was very useful for booking and rates.
However, I am looking for personal experience. I've had friends stay at local places with mixed results. Thanks, in advance, for your help.

I got married last year and our guests stayed at most of the hotels other than the Best Western which was booked up. The Holiday Inn Express and Hilton got good reviews. A few of my friends that were looking to save some money stayed at the Quality Inn right on the other side of the Bay Bridge (it's a good deal cheaper and still close) and said that it was ok. I stayed at the Best Western when it was a Comfort Inn a few years ago and I liked it - my room even had a jacuzzi in it. I don't know anyone that has stayed at the B&B's or motels here, so I don't know about them.

Kent Island Manor right next to the Bay Bridge. A weekly rate might be good vs the others. I had friends that stayed at that inn and loved it. a little bit more but worth it.

Yup. Kent Manor Inn is very nice.
How is the new Hilton getting along being right next to "The Jetty"? The noise (bands, crowds) has to keeping people awake in the hotel?

Many thanks! Turns out the Kent Manor is fully booked... I think a lot of places may be. However, it did look wonderful.
Rich, congratulations on the marriage! Thanks for the good tips.

Red, Last August we had several family members in town for our wedding reception (8 months after the fact) . Some stayed at the Sleep Inn in Grasonville and had no complaints. Unfortunately it was the weekend of the boat races so those that didn't book early ended up staying in Easton at the Holiday Inn Express and the Hampton Inn. Although it's about a 20-ish minutes drive, they also had no complaints.

We've had many family/friends stay at the Hilton Garden Inn and everyone has said really good things about it. Also, you might want to check out www.tripadvisor.com for more reviews.

I think we've settled on the Hilton Garden Inn -- distance to my house and they have rooms this weekend (convenience and availability!). Now I only have to figure out what to do with them for 5 days in the heat of the summer.
Thanks to all of you for your help.

When you figure that our let us all know. If you have a boat that's one day. Baltimore another day. Saint M another 1/2 day. Red Eye on Sun 1/2 and night....Opps

Red, If its a family, they might enjoy staying at a house. Try www.vacationrentals.com . They have 3 waterfront houses on KI for vacation rentals.

Thank you for all of your help. The house option was inspired, but (unfortunately) the houses are booked pretty early. I'll definitely check that out for the next visit. My family ended up staying at the Holiday Inn Express -- very clean, great and quiet location. Because the weather was so beautiful we were able to enjoy the outdoors and relax. Also went to Crumpton on Wednesday -- great experience. Thanks again for the advice!

Unfortunately, I hadn't been before so I have nothing to compare the prices to. However, they seemed reasonable. We purchased a tiller (for parts) for about $50 (and it worked!). Definitely a good deal for us. There were two fields -- one started the bidding at $5 and the other $20, plus there was an inside. Like most auctions, I had a bit of trouble figuring out why some items attracted multiple bidders while others went for cheap. I'll definitely go back.
