Met a friend at Matapeake park for lunch yesterday. Wasn't sure what to expect since I hadn't been there since the new beach area was created and the old building refurbished. The county did a pretty good job of it all. Had a good lunch (sandwich's and chips) at the cafe, sat outside on the patio area. Walked down to the beach area where several families were picnicking on the beach and kids playing in the water.
Check it out if you haven't been.

but don't tell anyone else outside of the island...don't want it to be another Sandy Point ;D You know, I thought this exact thing when I was there. I can see it happening and I'm not sure what could be done to stop it. It is free to get in, so the word will get out. Possible idea: May be have have an entrance point, have the driver of the vehicle show ID with a QAC address?

I'm thinking a "Closed" sign would work

I'm thinking a "Closed" sign would work You would think, But after what I saw going on in the "closed" lanes on the bridge yesterday I'm not too sure that would discourage them.

I went there today with my sister. It was fantastic! What a lovely job they did restoring the club house, and the beach is very popular already. We definitely need to keep this spot a KI secret.
