Noticed a vibration at speed in my truck, procrastinating dealing with it. Was at Marine West on Friday, decided to stop by Mr. Tire since I was there at Red Apple Plaza. I wanted to see how much to balance, check them out and possibly do it right then.
Had all 4 tires balanced and rotated for $30, dead smooth ride now. Part of all work they do a safety check, I didn't think I needed anything. But, they did discover and showed me that mice have been getting in the air cleaner box and chewing on the air filter rubber (little ba$tards, can you say dcon). It was OK to keep using it though.
It wasn't that extensive of work, good job done. One of the wheels didn't fly off and I die in a fiery crash on the bay bridge and make everyone late getting home. I hate when that happens.
For tire stuff I'll give them another try in the future if needed.

They're very good about tire things but I wouldn't go to them again for an oil change.
1. I don't like the oil that they use.
2. They put the filters on WAYYYYY too tight.

I've never used this one... but I have had problems w/ other Mr. Tire stores...
got an oil change & they forgot to put the oil cap back on... luckily i caught it shortly after leaving... but still...
and - this is not a Mr. Tire problem per se... but more a technician problem... and again not this store... but they actually forgot a lug nut once... & the others weren't tighten... very scary.... i called & talked w/ the store manager cause I knew him & he looked into it & spoke w/ the guy working on my car... come to find out he got distracted with something that happened in the shop & "completely forgot where he was" - fortunately again I caught it before it became a problem & also they gave me a huge reimbursement/discount due to the problem.
Other than those 2 incidents - I've always had pretty decent service with them & my dad used them exclusively until the one where he lived was sold to a new owner & service went down hill from there...

I usually give every new business a try at least once. Dealing with my tires, they did good. Not looking for a new mechanic, I use either Willis or Western Auto and have been happy with their work to date.
Price very rarely drives my decision on services and goods. Blind loyalty doesn't work for me either. I will pay more for good service and to people who stand behind their work and product.
As for Wally World, not one of my favorites. I do try not to buy made in china stuff when ever I can, it's not easy though for certain items. (like my John Deere tractor belt I bought from the John Deere dealer, "made in china".....just not right)
