Island lady, I had a problem a while ago and he was nice enough to give me his card when I spoke with him. I have not had any problems since. From what I was told they had a new chief. The owner was nothing short of a gentleman.I now go to R's at least once a week and not for happy hour but full pay. My average bill is always $30.00 plus and I don't have a problem with the service or food. It just keeps getting better. If you are ever there when the owners are they run a tight ship and really care about the service and food.

Ok...went back in last night..(sort of the not being able to look away from a train wreck kind of thing) My girl friend said things seemed to be getting better. You know what? It appears she was right. There is a new outside area(too windy last night though) and the service was better. The food came out quickly and the server actually was really personable and not just going through the motions. Maybe they are starting to get it. Maybe we were lucky. Anybody else experienced a difference?

My in-laws took my wife and I there as a surprise for my birthday last month. When we pulled into the parking lot, I thought, "Oh no, I don't want to tell them all the bad things I've heard about this place. Maybe it'll be all right".
I was very pleasantly surprised. It was 4 for $40 night so we saved a pile of money. Our waitress was fast, personable, and attentive. Even though the little sign on the table said that the 4 for $40 applied to the "Cantina Classics", our waitress made it clear that it covered all entrees. Between the four of us we had the mixed grill, the tuna, the crab cakes, and the ribeye steak. While I admit that someone looking for authentic tex-mex may be disappointed, all of our food was served quickly and cooked well. In fact, it was quite delicious. We also had several of the .99 cent margaritas, (served on the restaurant side), as well. They were a bit short on the tequila, but they were cold, wet, and good. What do you expect for .99 cents? We split three deserts between us and no problems there either.
I spent the whole night looking for something to complain about and couldn't really find anything. I guess they needed some time to shake out the problems. I'll be going back again.

You must have had a good waiter because mine told me I could not get the 99cent drink on the resturant side? I wonder if you can get 4 for40 with 2 people? They do need to be clearer on the specials. I have gotten 3 different answers 3 times.

Ive been to R's before and have never had this service problem. I am an R's club member and enjoy getting all of the benefits this club offers. The manager, Christa is super nice and has fixed all my problems, and their service isnt that bad. Rumor has it they have all new servers. Maybe give it another try in a couple of weeks.

It's encouraging to see some better reports. I guess I will give them another try. I really liked the look and feel of the cantina.
All I ask for is reasonable food and attentive service. In my past experiences I got neither.
Cheerio.

Cinco di Mayo is coming up, that would be a great opportunity for R's to show how good they can be.

went there the other night with some friends-it was flip night-your server flips a coin-you call it right ,first round is on the house-of course we didn't win-who calls tails!!-anyway, the server was great-so friendly...a little slow but we didn't really mind-food was really good as well-i was really expecting the worse but it was all a really good experience.so, maybe our little forum here helped to turn things around? can we take a little credit ya think? i think we should

I went last night and had another good experience. I got the "pick any 2" $14.95 deal and chose a Blackened Chicken Burrito with a half-rack of Baby Back Ribs. the sides were refried beans and rice. The burrito had a cheese sauce on it and was really, really good! The ribs were cooked perfect and very tasty. I sat at the bar and the bartender was prompt and friendly, and the Margarita was good, maybe a bit on the weak side, but good. So far I've had what I listed above and I've had the Chimichanga a few times and that's very good too. I think that they got it together and I'm liking it

i actually have posted some negative reviews on R's myself in the past - i just think that when something or someone tries to improve, a little positive feedback is in order.we've been pretty harsh re:R's on here and i think we should give credit where credit is due.who knows if the improvement is here to stay-no one wishes anyones business to fail and if consumer complaints on here or anywhere else helped well i'll take the risk of a small fracture to the hand-thanks

HEY! If you REALLY want to see what's up with R's, go there for the Cinco De Mayo blow-out this weekend! .99 margs all weekend and apparently a very kid friendly party on Sunday....heard from some friends that work there. PS - the patio does look pretty good....
