I picked up a friend of mine from the Dillion Bus at the P&R today and noticed about 4 places where window glass was in a pile. Did a bunch of cars get broken into today or yesterday? I know that there has been a lot of broken bottle glass there recently, but not window glass. It might be time for some cameras or extra patrols in there.

BCD............The park and ride is used by commercial vehicles at the expense of your tax dollar. I reported to the M.S.P. over three years ago that a Power Solutions Company truck with connections to a known drug dealer is using our lot as his personal parking lot. Sgt. Art Loehman was given this information, but could not locate the truck which is there every night. Now there are several of these Power Solutions trucks using the lot. Bus trips taking tax dollars to Atlantic City also use the lot at our expense. If these businesses were made to pay for parking the money could be used to clean up the broken glass...........A small rest stop E/B Rt.#50 just West of the Rt.#301 split was shut down due to homosexual activity. That activity is now being conducted at the Park & Rides.

Pete, i'm confused...... isn't the lot for parking? So what's the big deal if people park there and go on a bus trip to atlantic city? Who really cares? I didn't think it was just a commuter lot for those going to or from work across the bridge, I thought it was for everybody.
I agree it does really look like crap with all the glass and trash, but who do we blame that on? I personally haven't seen anyone throwing trash on the ground or breaking bottles, but its obviously being done because its there. This lot has been a pain since it opened.
As far as our weak police force, what is that they should be doing? Sitting there watching the park and ride all day for those scofflaws that are parking and going to atlantic city?
Here's a solution.....get the state to trun the park and ride into a pay lot and have it manned 24 hours a day with an attendant. The state will make money, the lot will be clean and those taking advantage of the free parking will be penalized.

Chevy, he does get a bit twisted doesn't he? Perhaps Pete can start his own Crime Watchers group, and along with the state, and county police, make irregular patrols around the P and R. No need to to much but take plate numbers, and descriptions. I believe we had a earlier thread in relationship to the trashed park and rides, but I'm being to lazy to go looking. It's Friday and I have a 3 day weekend. Everybody be safe, and have a great weekend. I hear it should be much cooler too.:-)

You will find being new to the forum that there is alot of police bashing that occurs (usually by the same individuals). They consider any crime commited the fault of law enforcement, not the criminals. Pete - just curious, have you experienced first hand the homosexual activity in the lot - are you good with hetersexual activity in the lot and/or are you just homophobic

Cheap Shot Artists...........The point is that the park and ride is paid for by the tax payers. There is a big sign spelling out the rules as you enter the lot............Shadow 1, grow up. Imagine the come backs to your sick question had I wrote it. These cowardly children would be telling you to ask your mother, and other nasty things that they would not say to your face.

I'm confused on why any vehicles are being left at the park and ride overnight. More confused why vehicles are being left there for months on end that are for sale. I'm sure majority of the vehicles that are being vandalized are the ones that are for sale or left there overnight. The rules of the park and ride are posted and clearly these two above mentioned things are violations and prohibited. Sorry about your luck if your car gets messed up. The vehicle should of not been left there in the first place. It's the owners dumb ass fault and oh well about the damage. The owner had it coming. Don't leave your car there overnight or for sale. As a tax paying citizen I certainly don't want my county police babysitting the park and ride. They should be in the communities, not the park and ride. The park and ride is Maryland State owned property, therefor the state police can worry about the problems. Follow the rules people!

Pete, it's always a pleasure. First off, I would not have have made the accusations you make, therefore, I would not have received the responses. Obviously, your reputation for unsubstantiated information proceeds you. What's your last sentence mean You again prove the point that you have a habit of straying from the post subject matter which warrants a response. Any vandalism is unacceptable - maybe cameras could be installed at the lot. At least there would be the possibility of evidence should it occur.

The cars that were vandalized on Wednesday belong to Daily Commuters. I have left my car at the P&R overnight several times, because sometimes my work takes me out of town unexpectedly (like the same day) and I don't have time to go all the way back home...etc. Nobody deserves to have thier property vandalized and your statments about it being the dumb asses owner's fault is downright idiotic. How many more tax dollars does it take for the County Sheriffs office to ride thru the park and ride? None, consider they do drive thru there anyway. I am a tax payer as well, and since I do utilize the P&R, it doesn't bother me at all if they drive thru there more often.

I have to agree Bitte. Isn't the Park and Ride, just as much a part of the community, and used by the citizens of that community? I don't think a sheriff would be going to much out of his way, by making a cruise through the shopping center, and checking out the Park and Ride. I do have one question? Have they installed cameras at the lot? That could be a cheap deterant.( Sorry for the misspelling moosie)! :-)

Any vehicle left on the Property for more than 48hrs is subject to tow. I was sitting there a few years back and a trooper came in, tagged the vehicles and state stored them.

I can assure you that the deputies do regular patrols at the park and ride, however we can not sit there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No matter often the police ride through, crime will still take place. It's amazing how every time something happens that the jerk criminal does, it's always the police officers fault that it happened in the first place. If the cops did this, if the cops did that, if the cops checked the place more, blah, blah, blah. We can't be at all places at once. I don't care if Queen Anne's had 50 police officers working at once, crime will take place somewhere where the officers are not located. There will always be crimes committed because you have low life scum bags who are drug addicts, alcohol abusers and punk ass juveniles. Case Closed! It's called job security! The police need crime and so does the government! Like the police want there to be no crimes. Yeah, keep dreaming and smoking the rock. The officers would work themselves right out of a job if there were no more crime and they too can be on the unemployment line. Don'y think so.

deterrent this is not recent, but i recall a pretty ugly car--thus very obvious--sitting in the lot facing the kmart in the front row for a very, very long time. perhaps the time enforcement has gotten better since then?

Cars DO get warned, & ticketed, Especially the ones for sale. Maybe not regularly, I think more when competing shade tree dealers report their competition for having cars their.
One time years ago, I counted like 8 cars, no tags, all for sale, all the same phone #, and all had a official greeting card on the window.....
