Ok, I finally bit the bullett and had a Crab Cake. A friend brought it to me from that place across from the Air Port if you were to keep going straight coming from K-Mart (towards the bay) I can't think of the name.....
So since it's my first experience with one, I thought it was very, very, good!!
So my question to ya'll, is who or where on the island as the best crab cake......so I can go and try them out, to make sure that this just wasn't a one time thingy on my part!! (LOL)
and who maybe has the best "home" recipe? Cause I am thinking I could make this at home!!!!

If you went to the gas station next to Bay Bridge Airport, believe it or not you got the best crab cake on the island. These are excellent, better than most of the restaurants around here and for $10.99 not bad. I would have to say at least a 1/3rd of a lb and all jumbo lump. Good choice. Now for soft shell crabs. They have very good one also

You were at the Crab Shack. Next time try the fried filed hard crab. It's a hard crab without the top shell, stuffed with a crab cake, battered, and then deep fried.

My favorite crab cakes would be from The Narrows, Kentmorr, and the "gas station" A.K.A. The Kent Island Depot for take-out. The Narrows are simple but extremely good and Kentmorr ads a little twist by broiling a thin layer of imperial on the top. Very good! Honestly, it's hard to find a bed crab cake around here...

Eine - Here are my family's favorite crab cake and dip recipes.
Crab Cakes
1 lb crabmeat - 1/2 cup cracker or bread crumbs - 2 eggs - 1/4 cup mayo - 1 tsp seafood seasoning - 1/4 tsp pepper - 2 tsps Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp dry mustard
Mix eggs, mayo, Worcestershire and seasonings. Add crabmeat; mix gently. Add crumbs. Shape into 6 cakes. Saute in a little oil for about 5 minutes on each side.
Hot Crab Dip
1/2 lb crabmeat - 1 pkg (8 oz) softened cream cheese - 1/2 cup sour cream - 2 tbsps mayo - 1 tbsp lemon juice - 1 1/4 tsps Worcestershire sauce - 1/2 tsp dry mustard - 1 tbsp milk - 1/4 cup grated cheddar - pinch garlic salt - paprika for garnish
Mix cream cheese, sour cream, mayo, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard and garlic salt until smooth. Stir in milk. Stir in 2 tbsps grated cheddar. Fold in crabmeat. Pour into greased 1-quart casserole; top with remaining cheddar. Bake at 325 until bubbly and browned, about 30 minutes. Sprinkle with paprika. Serve with crackers.

if you've got crabs in your bed, you've got bigger problems than you might think! just got here, speeder--glad you caught it! ;D einebier--i have a great recipe, but will have to look for it. hardly any mayo or filler. yum. i usually make my own if i can catch enough crabs--slim pickins the last year or so. if you ever make the trek to rock hall, the restaurant on the water the name of which i can't think of, of course, has good ones!
