Despite what your RA says, you cannot major in Partying and minor in beer drinking
Be nice to the Geeks, you may have to beg them for a job one day; or need legal representation....
Only 2% of the College Athletes make it to the Big leagues where the money is grand...; chances are your dating one of the 98%.
The only person who cares whether or not you show up for class is the one who is signing the checks.
College can be the best experience of your life. With an open mind, sense of humor, willingness to succeed, and an attitude of living life to the fullest...Will make the next several years fly by!!
Last but not least.....Hug your parents. If it weren't for them, you wouldn't be here getting ready to experience a whole new chapter!
For the Parents.....Live life, enjoy the empty nest (if it is now empty)....Dance Nakid thru the house....
Don't pester your kid at school. This is the beginning of cutting those apron strings.
Let them make their mistakes.
Don't feel bad when they come home for weekend visits, if you don't see them much, after all they really came home to see their friends........Have you do their laundry, and maybe eat some home cooking (on the run to see their friends tho)

I told mine to get good grades or he gets the bill, I'm not paying if he flunks...... Shouldn't be a problem, I jsut wanted to make it clear- No career students allowed.
And that any phone call from the school would not go over well. The later at night the phone call, the worse it will be.......

Seems like one day they are little ones running around the house and the next thing you know they are all grown up and gone. I know it's a tough one but it's like a natural progression of life.
Actually it will be a good memory someday for the both of you. Good luck to all!
