Does anyone know why they are repaving Route 8? It didn't seem like it needed it at all.

I'm wondering WHY they milled off the lines before paving the road? I haven't seen that done before

Yeah, I can't figure out why they did that with the lines and turn arrows either. It looks like they just placed another layer right on top of the old road too, without pulling up anything but the lines. That will raise the road by about 4 inches and make all of the driveways and side roads have a big ridge to go up. Really dumb.

And WHO's the BRAINIAC that decided to START paving in the middle of the week?
Start on Monday, Finish on Friday so the Non-Drivers have their lines back, they can't get along with out them, they don't know where to go with the lines........

Notice that they've already cut out and repaired parts of the new coating at the entrance to Bay City?

Yes, and those bumps and dropoffs are kind of dangerous to those of us who ride motorcycles. Who can we complain to?

Now they are repaving rt 50 west by the narrows?? Isn't the middle of summer the wrong time to start paving the road to the beach? Why not repair the sideroads this time of year? Kent Island Estates certainly has a need for repairs at this time and it won't slow down the beachgoers.

I think the paving is finished They better not be. There are lips and ledges all over the place that I can't merge on with the motorcycle. Why is the standard of acecptable road condition always such that my legally registered motor vehicle (motorcycle) is dangerous to operate on?

I hear ya! Now that they've milled 50 West between the Kent Narrows Bridge and the cemetery. There is no way I'll be able to ride that on my bike. The lips onto the service roads are even more dangerous than the ones closer to the Bay Bridge. Ridiculous!!

... Kent Island Estates certainly has a need for repairs at this time and it won't slow down the beachgoers. Funding for the streets inside communities comes from county coffers. Rt 8 is a state project. Still, no excuse for the crappy job on 8.

Well it looks like they've decided to do things smarter with regards to the paving of the section between the Kent Narrows Bridge. They've milled all the way to the shoulder and into the on and off ramps. Hopefully they will correct the on/off ramps to/from Rt. 8 as well.
