Hello. Recently moved to KI and I'm commuting to Baltimore using Route 2 north. Does anyone use College Parkway as a shortcut from the bridge to route 2 north or are there too many lights?

Hello. Recently moved to KI and I'm commuting to Baltimore using Route 2 north. Does anyone use College Parkway as a shortcut from the bridge to route 2 north or are there too many lights? I don't recommend it. There are too many lights...lots of traffic...speed limit is slower. My husband drives to Glen Burnie every day....always uses 50 to rt 2. And....sometimes it backfires if you try to use it (College Pkwy) as a short cut if there is an accident...just gridlock. Welcome to the Eastern shore! Traffic can be a nightmare...but I can't imagine ever living on the other side of the bridge again. We live in Centreville...takes my husband 45 min to get to work.

I wouldn't trade DC traffic for commuting up rt 2. People on that road are in no hurry to get anywhere except in front of everyone else.

Taking college parkway is about twice as long unless there is a big accident on 50. Of course, you are stuck if the accident is on the bridge.
