Well after going to Bats Neck to dump a load of rubble (from remodeling my own home, no contractor involved), I was informed that after July 1st, they will take no houshold debris in any quantity more than a 55 gallon drum and also no concrete whatsoever. Well, that is going to make a nice mess up and down Rt8 after people leave the dumping station ANGRY and decide to unload their stuff on the side of the road. What is the county thinking? People are going to dump it roadside for sure and they (county) will not only have to pick it up but they will have to dispose of it as well.

Good point, I agree. By trying to cut costs they are increasing long-run costs. Typical of this government though..

Gov'ts now think they are a business, and if something they are doing doesn't MAKE money they want to stop doing it.
They have forgotten the dump is a service the we PAY for, it's not going to make money by design.
I have no problem chasing the commercial guys, contractors etc. down the the pay dump. But not the citizens private trash.
Oh and can we lose that goofy ticket system yet?
